Newcastle Fans React To Poor Performance And Terrible Result

There will be a lot to do for Rafa Benitez and his coaching staff to get the Newcastle team ready for the game on Friday at home to Leeds United and a lot of that will be working on the players mental approach to the game.

We were poor from the off today and deserved to be beaten by a team that was (easily) the better side on the day.

It’s the wrong time for the Newcastle team to start buckling under the pressure but since Huddersfield were beaten 2-0 at Nottingham Forest today they can get only to 92 points.

Since we have a better goal difference it means we now need 8 points (we currently have 84 points) from our remaining five games to ensure an automatic promotion spot, but whether we can win the league now is a good question with Brighton doing nothing wrong these days.

If we had won today we would have been 5 points from automatic promotion.

Here’s how our fans reacted to the poor performance and the defeat.

So my run of not seeing a win at a live match continues. Apart from a few flashes we never looked like doing it either. They scored from two dead ball situations and we had half chances.

I would not normally defend Perez but he did not have much to survive on as the ball was played to the sides or over the top. He did show more technique than anyone else though, bring the ball under control and retaining possession but no one else is on his level.

If we can’t bully the opposition we fall apart, as when we try to actually play with the ball we fall short. I really do not understand how poorly professional footballers can actually perform. Or how woeful and slow our attacking intent can be.

Blah blah it’s pardew football blah blah……ok, you beleive pardew would have us in the same position? If yes, you are on another planet and unlikely to be able to communicate with me. If no, then lets change the record. We all know the football has not been pretty, but it has been effective, the latter being the exact opposite of Pardew football.
