Newcastle Fans Blow Up Twitter – Promotion Almost Guaranteed

Newcastle fans took to Twitter after both Huddersfield and Reading lost their games today and they went crazy – or should we say – stayed crazy?

🙂

Only the Terriers can catch us now, but to do so they have to win all their games and we have to get only one point from our last three games.

You know we think we can do that!

Howay The Lads!!

Fabulous job by this man – thanks Rafa

Here’s some tweets from the greatest fans in the world:

Who’d have thought Brighton, Huddersfield and Reading would all lose eh? Just goes to show that any team can choke when it really matters. What a party atmosphere it could be at SJP on Monday. Hope the lads can go out and play without any pressure now and put in a real performance, without any complacency though. The job isn’t *quite* done yet.

I assume it’s on the telly with it being a Monday night game, right?

The stars have aligned! Them 3 losing, plus it’s ANZAC day (a public holiday) on Tuesday here in Australia so I can lie in bed and watch the game while getting paid for it 🙂

Has anyone got a link for the Spurs Chelsea FA Cup game?

As Bobby said after the last game the good work we did earlier in the season set us up for this position to be promoted hopefully easily in the end

The results today must have been Sir Bobby Robson’s doing from above. It couldn’t have gone any better. Amazing day for us and now to seal the promotion spot on Monday at St James’, just brilliant 🙂

Two points from three games and bingo, we’re up. Win all three and we get the trophy.

You’re right Chancel. Now that the pressure is off we will likely win comfortably on Monday. Always the way.

Well, you know what the experts always say about semi finals eh? Cagey, over cautious games. Clearly nobody bothered to tell Spurs n Chelsea that because this is everything but. Belter of a game and surely more goals to come. Spurs unlucky to be 2-1 down imo, been the better of the two teams but we all know that means little in football. Second half should be good.

I thought Fulham might be tough going, but after going 1-0 down after 4 mins it seemed that Huddersfield were going to get the job done. What a day! Reading out of the running and 2 points needed for guaranteed promotion! Come on lads, let’s get the party started on Monday night! Wish I could be there. Blow the roof off SJP!

If they are sensible, Huddersfield will now be preparing for the playoffs and not concentrating on catching us which would be very unlikely. They’ve got 2 away games left including to Birmingham who are fighting relegation. They won’t be easy matches for them

Moonraker, without going all conspiratorial, we would’ve already won the league but for some shocking decisions. The sooner we see the rear end of the Championship the better mate. Talking of which, our next game is reffed by a Huddersfield fan, whilst theirs is reffed by a mackem. Sometimes commonsense should rear its head with the FA, but it seldom does. Not saying there’s anything suspect, but if both refs have a bad night and they win and we lose because of dodgy decisions, it’s only natural that questions will be asked yet again. After what’s happened previously, why even allow such a thing to be even possible? Just use some nous and change the officials, so at least then nobody can make ant accusations anywhere.

I’d take Gylfi, Llorente, and Moreno from Swansea… maybe Negredo, Chambers and Traoré from Boro…

And Defoe from the mackems 🙂
