Watch Out For Early Newcastle Transfer Business

Newcastle are now almost certain to be promoted – it’s not yet mathematically certain but if we win on Monday night at home to Preston North End we will go up.

And if don’t win on Monday night then the players will have missed out on what could have been one of the greatest nights of their careers.

But the next night on Tuesday if Huddersfield don’t win at Wolves in their make-up game at an in-form Wolves side we will be promoted.

Rafa Benitez arriving at St. James’ Park on 11th March last year

Wolves are starting to win games now under new manager Paul Lambert and they have won six of their last nine games – 19 points from 9 games and they beat Fulham 3-1 at Craven Cottage on 18th March in that streak.

Once we are officially promoted then expect Lee Charnley to go into overtime behind the scenes to go after Rafa’s transfer targets.

Lee and Rafa worked great together last summer and it’s important we have another very successful transfer window before we return to the Premier League.

We’re sure Rafa will want new players brought  in very early in the summer so they have a full pre-season and the manager can also have his one-one-one meeting  soon with owner Mike Ashley to  sort out the funds for the summer.

One thing is certain, any funds Rafa can get from selling players will be used for bringing in new players.

We expect Mike to give Lee and Rafa just as much as he can in funds this summer – he’s no fool and will never want another relegation at Newcastle.

We wont have one for as long as Rafa Benitez stays with us.

And we would expect Newcastle to release the new home strip for next season and announce who our new shirt sponsor will be and maybe a sleeve sponsor?

They have probably been waiting for promotion before they officially do that.

Our manager has never been given the credit for the bravery and courage he showed in staying on board and managing Newcastle in the second division.

You hardly ever see that from a world-class  manager and one of the reasons is they have nothing to gain – they can only lose.

But is hows the fans of Rafa’s complete commitment to Newcastle United Football Club.

Rafa has got us promoted and he’s done fantastically well in what is a strange and tough league for him,  but he accepted the challenge and he produced the goods.

Everybody (pundits, national journalists ….) will sayhe should have with the money he got and the squad he had – even though we made over £40M profit last summer in the transfer window..

Sometimes you just cannot win.

But Newcastle fans have won big  by having Rafa Benitez as our manager.

Did I say I am really really looking forward to this summer’s transfer window?

Yes – I thought I had.
