Ashley – Benitez Meeting Prelude To Newcastle’s Future Triumphs

Rafa’s famous biographer Guillem Balague has been writing again about Benitez, who is scheduled to return to the Premier League with Newcastle United next season.

Rafa is playing up his meeting with owner Mike Ashley, which will hopefully take place before our last game of the season next Sunday, we are hoping everything will be OK.

If we win that game and Rafa don’t win at Aston Villa next Sunday Newcastle will go up as Champions, but a Brighton win means they will win the league, whatever Newcastle  do against Barnsley.

W are hoping everything will be OK with the upcoming Benitez-Ashley meeting of the minds, but we just cannot believe the owner will screw this one up – after all Rafa is threatening to make Newcastle into one of the top clubs in Europe.

Rafa Benitez and Mike Ashley

Rafa wants to keep full  control of all football matters at the club and  get sizable transfer funds this summer, so he han start (keep) transforming his Newcastle squad into a Premier League force.

Rafa is nothing if not organized and fully prepared for his meeting with Ashley when he will present a detailed blueprint and staged plan  of where he wants to take the club long term, which is to win the Champions League.

Rafa will also detail what he wants to specifically do in this summer’s transfer window, as the next stage in his complete  transformation of the Newcastle United Football Club.

Rafa will not only talk about the playing squad but also the club’s facilities and as we’ve said before, he will want  much improved training facilities at Benton.

It will also help the financial situation this summer  that Newcastle spent nothing in January, which of course upset Benitez, who wanted two players brought into the squad and didn’t get them.

And when Newcastle spend again this summer it will be in the next  the next financial year – July 1st, 2017 through next June 30th, when we are back in the big money of the Premier League.

We will get a £40M parachute payment next month from the Premier League (and £7M from the Championship) and we expect Mike Ashley to make big money available to the man who wants to make Newcastle United into a club worth hundreds and hundreds of millions of pounds.

And Mike is going to get in they way of Rafa way doing that?

We don’t think do.

Guillem Balague is the famous Spanish Sky Sports journalist who probably knows Rafa better than anybody and this is what he had to say about Rafa on Friday:

“You have to listen to what Rafa Benitez has been saying.”

“Which is  “I need to sit down and see what is available money-wise and see what we can do.””

“Because remember, what has held back Newcastle managers in the past, is that the club has been run like a business more than a football club.”

“And I think what Rafa has been implying is that he would love for it to be run like a football club.”

“It is not about him getting all the players he wants, it is about making sure he has a say about who is coming and going – enough of a say for him to feel that the squad is his.”

“So there is still a long way to go.”

Rafa has brought everybody at the club together since he arrived a short 13 months ago and this meeting hopefully will bring Mike Ashley completely on-board with Rafa’s ambitious plans for the famous Newcastle United Football club.

We just wish we could have a quick look at the Powerpoint charts before the meeting – we’d only need about 30 minutes or so to find out exactly what Rafa wants and needs.

Think there is any chance of that?

No – we didn’t so either.

There is not too much to worry about, although Mike Ashley does have a history of shocking us when we least expect it – like when everything is going so very well.

But hey, the meeting will be a successful one for the club, the manager and the owner  and will set the stage for Newcastle’s greatness in future years.

That’s our firm belief – apologies for being so upbeat on this Sunday morning.

I saw a Mackem being interviewed outside the Stadium of plight yesterday calling fot the appointment of Neil Warnock !!!!!!
They get £100 million from the PL next month.
They should keep Moyes and they’ll come straight back up.

Neil Warnock?? Haha! I fcuking hope so 🙂

I think they spent their sky money in advance and will still be piss-poor once they get it.

The scum will not be promoted. Any one of the clubs in the play-offs is good enough to mount a challenge for the title next season. In addition, Norwich, Villa and many others underperformed this season and will rectify that next season.

Moyes is supposedly a complete fitness maniac. Some players will responded to be beasted and drilled, some won’t. Unless Sunderland are going to do what we did and replace their squad wisely, they really need a different manager.

I am not surprised Sunderland didn’t sack him though, they are probably paying off 3 or 4 managers at is stands now. It is expensive business changing the manager once a season.

I can’t see us seeing the likes of Scumberland or Boro in the Prem for a few years, which in some ways is a bad thing, it’s an easy away day isn’t it, better than some of the south coast clubs.
