Newcastle On Brink Of Announcing New Shirt Sponsors

The Chronicle are reporting today that Newcastle United are about to announce new sponsors for next season.

Apparently Newcastle have agreed  a deal with a Chinese company who will have their name on the club’s new kit next season.

Lee Charnley – led successful trip to China

There were rumors the club were doing a deal with Chinese sponsors in late  March, but maybe both parties were waiting until we were sure we would be playing the Premier League next season.

The Chinese company is said to an online betting company in China and the deal will be announced by Newcastle early next week.

They will replace the very unpopular Wonga sponsors who fans objected to from the get go.

The new kit will also celebrate Newcastle’s 125 year anniversary after Newcastle West End and Newcastle East End came together in 1892 as Newcastle United.

Lee Charnley led a Newcastle delegation to China at the end of March as reported in the Chronicle and it seems that trip was extremely successful and the deal is now fully agreed.

It will be interesting to see how much the deal was struck for and for how long, because we need to increase those commercial revenues at the club and they have been poor for far too long.

We are miles behind clubs like the two Manchester clubs, Tottenham, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal in our commercial revenues.

So the shirt  sponsor and the new home strips will be unveiled next week – great!

Wonder we haven’t seen too many leaks of the new shirt yet – maybe over the weekend?

What do you think?

U never know Ashley has never been in it for the long run and if he can make a bit of profit he will be out the door like a shot with all that asset money and a smile on his chunky face

Allegedly the Company is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fun88 based in The Isle of Man (Shell company for tax reasons). Don’t know how true that is mind you, but they have sponsored Burnley, their spokesman is Robbie Fowler (who did one of the best goal celebrations ever), and they’re Spurs’ Asian Betting partner.

    So it may be b0ll0cks.

‘He’s a REALLY exciting player and Newcastle just isn’t Newcastle without one mercurial talent. ‘

Chinese betting company or not, it’s money coming in and it’s a step in the right direction. It’s a bit early to expect the big internationally known brands to back us. Give it a few years, time to establish Newcastle United as a global brand and the big global companies’ll be queuing up to back us.

But first, Rafa’s got to persuade Ashley to think out of the box and see the potential for growth.

Cyprus saying that with Ben arfa he wil be released by PSG Rafa could make him the player he should have been even at 30 years of age it’s an upgrade on gouffran

    Lesh – agree on that
It’s a “in it to win it “situation

China and the USA are the new power bases for global football and English (British) brands are the key players.
We have a growing Chinese investment into the UK and Newcastle as well.
The major sports brands are huge in China and want more of that market.
Ashley does as well with interests in both China and USA.

Global brand – no problem with that but we have to keep our Toon identity.

I feel it’s almost time for another Ben Arfa debate for the blog.

That should kill some time during the silly season.

There are quite a few upgrades on Gouffran, hes been decent this year under the Gaffa but may not be good enough at prem league level

Hibbit – I was thinking the same on Chinese ownership. If Ashley was smart he’d get us to top 6 then sell he’d make far more. He has the right man to take us there.
