Still Too Much Uncertainty At Newcastle

Vurnon Anita and Yoan Gouffran still don’t know what their futures will be at Newcastle and it looks like it’s all dependent on the funding Rafa will be getting from owner Mike Ashley.

It seems that Rafa is still undecided about the two and we suppose that’s football – the last day of the season and you still don’t know if you will get a new deal at the club.

We were hoping both players get new deals, because if nothing  else they will be very good squad players who Rafa trusts.

Both have had good seasons for us and showed they will walk through a brick wall for the side – which is always good.

Of course at the moment Rafa is maniacally single-minded about the game this afternoon against Barnsley and like last year at this time he wants a good performance in the last game from the lads  to end what has been a very successful season for us.

And a win against Barnsley will give us a decent chance of still lifting the Championship  and that would be the icing on the cake – let’s hope that happens.

This is what our manager has said when asked if he had made any decisions on the two players – as reported in ChronicleLive:

“I am trying to stop speculation about players because if we have a meeting and we talk about this or that, then it has an influence on players.”

“I told them the other day: ‘Forget about your future, short-term, because we have to play this game, and then next week I will meet the owner and then we will talk about what’s going on.”

“And then you will know after the meeting because before the meeting I can say nothing’.”

Hopefully the meeting will take place very soon and then Rafa and Lee Charnley will start moving very quickly to start building Newcastle’s new team for the Premier League next season.

It’s really exciting and we should all be able to have a great summer following Rafa’s transfer activities.

Can’t wait but first of all maybe we can go up as Champions?
