Former Star Congratulates Newcastle

Yohan Cabaye has taken to his Twitter account to congratulate Newcastle United on getting promoted and also winning the Championship yesterday.

Yohan’s career has gone off the boil since he left Newcastle for PSG in January of 2014, but he still seems to have a special place in his heart for the club.

“How the title was won” is a favourite of TV sports and usually it isn’t in the last game. Yesterday was the climax in the last minutes of a long hard season ( Brighton looking more punch drunk than us) and an amazing feeling when you emerge as the victors.

However there were arguably more pivotal points of the season. For me the ones which spring to mind are the recovery late in injury time against Norwich , setting our stall out early by beating Brighton 2-0 , being cheated at Forest (a win there and not only us but also Forest and Blackburn’s fortunes are directly affected) and of course that really pivotal week in February when we took on Brighton Huddersfield and Reading away in7 days.

Still smiling from yesterday but whilst it did come down to a last minute shoot out am not forgetting there were many key moments of a long hard season.

Thanks Rafa for energising and transforming our Club and long may it continue ?

Jog on Cabaye you little muppet! I do think he’d try to come back if Palace get relegated which I hope happens. Would love Townsend to go down after leaving for Palace
