Newcastle have Just released their new home kit for next season in the Premier League.
The club have also announced the new kit sponsor – FUN88 – a Chinese gaming company founded in 2008.
This is what Newcastle have just published on the web-site
Far Eastern gaming company FUN88 has become the primary partner of Newcastle United.
As part of a three-year agreement, FUN88 will feature proudly on the club’s famous black and white stripes, starting with an historic season as the club celebrates its 125th anniversary.
The partnership was officially confirmed in a special online video, with legendary players and members of the current squad joining forces to display the club’s 2017-18 PUMA home kit.
FUN88 will be supporting fan initiatives in Newcastle, nationally and overseas, with more to be revealed in due course.
Founded in 2008, FUN88 has a significant online following in Asia and offers sports betting, live casinos, slots and keno games in multiple languages.
This is what Nathan Walker – Director at FUN88 had to say:
“We are looking forward to engaging with the club’s huge fan-base, both in Newcastle and worldwide.
“We are exited about the next three years and are looking forward to the 2017-2018 Premier League season.”
This is what Newcastle Managing Director lee Charnley said about the deal:
“We have worked closely with PUMA to deliver a design that celebrates our history.”
“The anniversary crest, simplicity of the design and the red numbers on the back of the shirt are just small touches that make it a special kit for a milestone season.”
Here’s the video Newcastle put out on the new strip.

DeAndre Yedlin wearing the new kit
Dwight Gayle seems delighted with the new kit
When I first saw Newcastle play back in 1949 the lads wore red numbers on the back of their shirts, so it’s nice to see them go back to that – I always thought the red numbers looked great!
Comments welcome.

Had to go in one the other day with the wife.
She needed some cheap footballs for her kids in school (her uncles going in to coach them with 3 other youth team coaches from Liverpool) and dragged me along to suggest the correct ones.
I suggested JD.
Felt dirty coming out mate.

Bad news mate; and a feeble excuse “the wife made me do it” 😀
Having said that, it’s the missus that will be making me go to get one, then I can’t even wear it until my Birthday on Aug 1st.
Shame on us both mate…….But I do like that shirt.

Made her pay on her card, hold the bags and owe me for the trauma I went through.

Funnily enough, I used to like no fear. Funnier still, I no longer do.

Comment #132Proper Newcastle strip that. Classic and simple. Immediately recognisable. No need to mess around with it, and it should be worn whenever possible, home and away.

Anything without that Wonga logo would be an improvement, But I genuinely like this shirt, for once it looks like some thought was put into it.

Comment #134Online betting isn’t great either. Not a fan at all of pay day lending, gambling sites, booze, smokes, fast food etc that’s been strangely associated with professional sport over the years. Who could be? Certainly I would prefer if the governing bodies cleaned up this side of it. We all have to swim in the same water I guess, but really the club might have found a more progressive sponsor.

Comment #138Normally I’m all for one in the eye and a blood nose for the senior sides, but was happy to see Chelsea win that. Worthy Champions and top coach. I’d like to see Arsenal beat them in the Cup final though and also finish top four, so Wenger can cock a snoot at that group of remarkably ungrateful detractors among their fans.

After two trophies in twelve years and going through the motions of qualifying for the CL, getting the 40M and getting horribly beat later on with the manager seemingly happy to do so because he loves the club, why don’t Arsenal fans who pay well over a grand a year for tickets deserve a Conte, Guardiola or Mourinho?

Comment #140we are joint 11 th to16th in the early betting for next season at 500/1 but as it is 1/3 first 2 it is not worth backing. will be interesting to see if it is for top ten or top 6.

Comment #141Jail, I like Wenger because of the pure football his teams play, and his remarkable achievements for a club that hasn’t otherwise had the money of their main rivals, and for his criticism of the “financial” doping that you get at many of the senior clubs. Arsenals success has been earned, not bought, and some of the fans just want more without caring how its achieved. Bad show against Bayern though, no question

Comment #142Or if you don’t like two of those insert two of the next top five managers in the World, I think I’d rather take a chance with a new manager than put up with another season of what you’d had the time before again and again and again. Could you have hinestly put up with Pardew just to stay in the PL a bit longer.

It’s only Man City and Chelsea that have had free money over the PL years and they’ve won seven of 25 titles since the PL began, he hasn’t wanted to spend money the club have clearly got and I think this annoystheir fans more than anything, personally I think they’d prefer George Graham’s football and a title than what Wenger is serving up.

Comment #144I think they’ve held their own against bigger, and more monied clubs, and done it in style and also through a time when they’ve transitioned from one ground to a far bigger, better and more expensive one in a financially responsible way, and they are in the Cup final this season, and were in the Champions league yet again, and could all continue that quite remarkable run. Chelsea by comparison finished tenth last year, and Pardew at Newcastle just doesn’t compare at all. His time may be up, or coming to an end, but some of the protests this year have seemed a bit ugly.

Comment #147It’s a good ‘un, but that strip worn by Moncur, Clark, and McDonald in their day was my favourite. Love the black and white hooped stockings, and the slightly looser fit, pure cotton, shorts not quite so long, classic simple stripes and cut. Magic strip that one, along with the crew neck one from the first Keegan era.

Comment #148It’s amazing how symbolism sparks vivid memories. Looking at those away kits Jib put up spark negative or positive flashbacks. Some of them hit me hard as I instantly saw a flash of Ginola and Nobby Solano. then as the years rolled by, the memories evoked from the kits grew darker as I started seeing Ameobi’s and the Nicky Butts.
The same goes for the new sponsorship. Regardless of what I think about the new kit, however prejudice it may be, I think seeing ANY Chinese writing will always look cheap. Probably has to do with my toys which would fall apart.
