There’s a report in Italy that Newcastle are interested in signing 31 year-old Udinese and Greek International goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis to Newcastle this summer.
With Matz Sels proving to be a disappointment and Tim Krul likely to be sold this summer, Rafa will want another goalkeeper brought in this summer to challenge Rob Elliot and Karl Darlow for the number one goalkeeper jersey next season in the Premier League.

Matz will either be sold or sent out on loan for the season and 20 year-old promising young England U21 International goalkeeper Freddie Woodman is likely to be sent on loan to a Championship club for the season to get first team playing time.
The report is in Italian publication TuttoUdinese, which reports on everything about the Udinese club.
After managing Inter-Milan and Napoli in Italy, Rafa Benitez has lots of contacts in Serie A telling him who the good players are in the Italian League.
Orestis Karnezis has been in great form in Italy this last season, so it’s not surprising some Premier League clubs like Watford and Crystal Palace as well as the Magpies are after the 6ft 3ins tall goalkeeper.
His clean handling and excellent shot-stopping make him in demand at the moment.
It does seem that Rafa wants another goalkeeper brought into the club this summer and we suppose the 41 times capped Greek International would be a decent buy.
Karnezis was born in Athens and moved to Udinese in 2013 from Panathinaikos.
He’s played 110 times for the Italian club and is keen to play in England’s Premier League.
