Report Rafa Wants To Keep Christian Atsu At Newcastle

The Northern Echo are reporting today that Newcastle officials are in negotiations with Christian Atsu’s reps to keep him at Newcastle for an already agreed transfer fee of £6.2M.

It was thought the deadline for completing the transfer may have passed, but it looks like Rafa has decided he wants to keep the fast and skillful winger at Newcastle, after the Ghanaian International showed his class last season with 35 total appearances, 16 starts and 5 good goals.

Atsu should also keep improving under the coaching of Rafa Benitez, whom he loves playing for and the player trains hard and is a positive influence in the squad both on and off the field.

In short – he’s a smashing lad.

🙂

Christian has loved his time at Newcastle and we thought Rafa had passed up the chance to sign him, but this will be a popular signing with Newcastle fans with Christian already a big fan favorite.

Christian has the class and skill which is what Rafa needs to get more of into the squad his summer with his new signings – so signing Atsu will be good news for Newcastle fans.

Newcastle officials and his reps are busy negotiating personal terms, so if they are acceptable to the Ghanaian International  he should be signings along the dotted line.

What do you think?

He certainly looks like a player who could do a job in the Prem. If the fee has already been agreed, then i am assuming the only sticking point is salary?

    It’s in my head already
96th minute at Stamford Bridge 3-3 and Atsu drills in a 25 yard curling bullet of a shot leaving Chelsea desolate
    Go for it Rafa

Atsu just needs to feel wanted and settled. His form at the end of the season was getting better and better and I could see him going on improving under Benitez in the Prem.
Fast and tricky with an eye for goal and seems to be happy here. For £6.2m in today’s inflated market what’s not to like?
