Fans Deliver Their Verdict On Potential Tammy Abraham Signing

It looks like Newcastle are very close to tying up the season long loan signing of Chelsea’s 19 year-old striker Tammy Abraham.

It’s a very good signing in that we get a good young goalscorer quite cheaply for our season back in the Premier League and it will mean Newcastle don’t need to buy a striker until next summer which takes a little bit of the strain off the transfer finances.

That’s not to say Rafa will not bring in an experienced  striker this summer, which is expected.

Chelsea’s 19 year-old striker Tammy Abraham

But Chelsea have made it clear there will be no option to buy Abraham,  who they rate very highly and he will return to Chelsea next May and probably be ready to fight for his first team place at that time.

Some fans would have liked the deal to include an option to buy, because it does nothing in the long term for Newcastle – Tammy will need to be replaced next summer and one way of looking at it is that Rafa will make the teenager into a much better player for Chelsea.

But we will also get his services for a season quite cheaply and we have a feeling this lad will be welcomed by Geordie fans, who love to see goalscorers doing well at the club.

So it’s kind of like a good news – bad news thing which is why we were interested in getting the fans’ views on whether they considered Tammy to be a good signing for us.

A massive 80% of fans think it will be a good deal for Newcastle – so that’s a positive verdict.

And we’re sure if we do sign this lad he will get 100% support from Geordie fans and if he can score the goals for us in the Premier League it could be a season to remember for Tammy Abraham.

Hope so.

Tammy would be a great signing and watching him develop further but Olivier Giroud could be available too and he would be an immense signing for us.

I hope we get this kid on loan cos I reckon he will love it up here and even though there’s no option to buy I reckon we still will cos if he goes back to Chelsea he will get no game time so I don’t think he will want to sit on the bench for the next so many years

getoutofworeclub & Jimmy, couldn’t agree more on Mitrovic. I actually question a person’s judgement when they come up with the likes of “Even his hold up play was poor and Murphy was much better at linking up for the team yet he scored the odd goal unlike mitro who never looked threatening at all.”

Defies belief to the point where you have to be curious it’s not a wind-up.

Murphy better than Mitrovic at link up play… Mitro never looking a threat? lol. Mitrovic’s link up play is that of a mature striker, and he is constantly a threat – it is only his finishing that needs polishing up.

I believe Abraham would be a good signing with potential there to keep him. If Abraham is signed, I cannot see this elusive proven striker is going to be signed on top of Abraham’s acquisition.

Lads, I haven’t posted for a long time on the site but felt I had to as finally I see common sense being said around Mitro. Apart from his finishing (which can be worked on) the rest of his play is great. Every time he is on the pitch he’s a threat and like Costa (not suggesting he’s anywhere near the same level currently) the opposition defence never really know what’s going to happen adding an edge to to the game which often results in silly decisions being made.

In my opinion we need to stick with Mitro and I’m sure he’ll reward us… I mean the guy loves the club and loyalty in football these days is a very hard thing to find!

Just my thoughts, I’m sure a number of people will disagree with me but then again that’s the beauty of this sport… Everyone has a different opinion!

I think everyone is forgetting that we already have Europes most prolific, deadly striker already on our books in the one and only….Emmanuel Rivierre

Champions League final has 1-0 written all over it, which probably means it will be a goal fest.

I think Mitro should be given more time to prove himself. If we let him go without giving him a go in the prem, we may regret it as i think he has huge potential. The Abraham deal? is by no means sorted, its dragged on for a few days , and now Brighton are in the mix. I would,nt be surprised if he stays down south closer to his family. I think we should target someone who will be our player to keep if successful, and even make a profit on,, not just a loan signing with no chance of a secured signiture.

Ideally it would include a buy clause but where we are now it’s a no brainer as he fits Rafa’s style of play. And if it means me seeing less of Mitro then I’m definitely in.

    Repost from previous
The question on Mitro is this, would he benefit from 10 years playing in some of the best leagues with the best players creating the best chances for him…..of course he would, Mitro is still learning and will benefit from better players creating things for him, he has the tools but the way weplayed last season did not suit him, he spent loads of tim up against 3 defenders in the opposition half with no support.
He spent loads of time on the bench but when he was given a little run he either scored or created something for a colleague, it didnt help that he was given a 4 match ban for a tackle that wouldnt have been a free kick in the championship vs Spurs in the last game of our prem campaign….he score 9 goals that season which would have been deemed relative success if we had stayed up …… the dilema that is Mitro……. should he stay or should he go……or is london calling

Mitro needs a consistent run of games, he will come good look at how long it took Harry kane to come good how many loan spells away from the club did he have and never was prolific in the lower leagues. We just need to bide our time with Mitro his hold up play was good last season fingures crossed he adds finishing to that.

Totally agree Giroud would be fantastic, Giroud, Abrahams, Mitrovic and Gayle. Belter!
