Rafa Frustrated There Are Not More Signings By Now

Newcastle have made one signing in the summer transfer window so far and that was a fairly easy one with the price already having been set for Rafa Benitez to decide if he wanted to sign Christian Atsu from Chelsea for £6.2M and the player was very keen to join Newcastle.

So once Rafa decided he wanted the 25 year-old Ghanaian International winger it was fairly easy to get the deal done.

Rafa Benitez – unhappy there are not more signings

The news as far as we can tell from the reports is that Newcastle  have put in a number of bids for various players and we are reported to be closing in on signing Florian Lejeune of Eibar and Ruben Semedo of Sporting Lisbon.

The Mirror is reporting today that Rafa Benitez has become frustrated at Newcastle’s lack of transfer business completed so far this summer – although to be fair there have not been many deals done at all by many Premier League clubs.

But be that as it may Rafa likes to get things done so if he’s frustrated with the manager knowing exactly what’s going on behind the scenes so he obviously believes more deals should have been completed by now.

It’s clear Rafa wants to move very quickly in this transfer window, because it’s such a vital window for the Newcastle club and we need to be making signings as quickly as possible.

It’s June, doesn’t the transfer window open in July???

It was also a Mirror reporter that set off the suggestion that Ashley was re implementing his failed transfer policy. If he had, Rafa wouldn’t be still here would he?

I wouldn’t put me fish and chips in the Mirror

Rafa is not the only one that’s frustrated, that mysterious line is back.

The thing is, we know the club keep their cards close to the chest on transfers, and we need to be calm during this period. Rafa will be working in the clubs and our best interests, that’s all we need to know, when something happens, and when the time is right the information will be released.

Trying to keep potential targets under wraps must be a difficult job, made even harder by the media making stuff up on a daily basis.

I would be a lot happier with Semedo to be honest . It’s looking like for all intense and purpose Rafa’s going to buy two centre-halves so Semedo with an established Premier league defender a must in my eyes . If Tammy Abraham joins on loan it will be able to push Rafa onto signing rearguard enforcements with still all his transfer funds. In fact if Mitrovic and Murphy could leave for say 15 million and 2 million then Andre Gray could be signed with money to spare. I like the look of Sarr from Metz his you-tube video is amazingly scary but if Rafa could offset that purchase with an Andros Townsend then Premier league experience with natural flair could be found out wide. Defensively if the likes of Nathan Ake is up for 15-20 million then the mags have got to strike. I honestly think for around 100-120 million outlay with one major signing (William Carvalho in my eyes) next year we’ll be even prouder than this. A team to be reckoned with awaits GOD please let these next few weeks fly ! HWTL

In these modern days of internet who the hell need newspapers full of fake news, save money not buying them, in turn savings trees, so saving the planet, and if you really want to go the whole hog, you can save time by not clicking on their click bait URL’s.

    Just saying!

    Shirebrook

See still saving the planet 😀

On the transfer news, how do people know Rafa is upset? It’s just speculation. Can’t wait too see who our second signing is, hopefully it’s a statement of intent.

It would appear that the journos have been backtracking info about teams we’ve recently scouted more than once, following on from the start of the year when promotion looked pretty much a certainty.
They’ve then calculated, extrapolated, added their predictable ‘they might be after’ scenario and have decided we’ve had Sporting CP watched a few times, without ever knowing who was being scouted.
Hence the current list of Sporting CP players we ‘ARE’ about to buy.
    Carvalho, Semedo, Zeegelaar.
I’d love our striking target to be Dost, who currently also plays for … Sporting CP.
Wonder if Ashley could potentially use his obvious business acumen and actually create a network between the two clubs. Far worse ideas have been tried by him and that one would actually benefit both him and us.

So seeing as the numbers have disappeared off the posts and I am fundamentally too lazy to trawl and sift through previous articles – what was the upshot on the likelihood of two incoming centre backs? Could it be that Rafa is addressing an area of massively historical concern by actually creating huge competition in defensive positions? I hope so. It will mean the full backs aren’t safe 🙂
