Newcastle Fans Turn To Twitter – Enthusiastic Over Possible Striker Signing

This week Newcastle have been linked with as many as four players who could be arriving at St. James’ Park.

26 year-old  Eibar center-back Florian Lejeune seems like it is the most likely move to go though later this week.

There have been conflicting reports of whether we will sign 22 year-old Nicolas Pepe of Angers who seems to be moving to French club Lille, but some reports are still saying he will move to Newcastle.

Newcastle were also heavily linked yesterday with 25 year-old Porto striker Vincent Aboubaka and that seems to have pleased the Newcastle fans the most – and it seems a very reasonable fee at £9M with some of the other prices for strikers ridiculously high.

25 year-old Porto striker Vincent Aboubaka

The other player we are supposed to be close to signing is Torino defensive midfielder Afriyie Acquah who seems to have said that he is 90% towards a move to the Premier League but has then denied he is 90% towrds moving to Newcastle – or something like that!

Here’s some tweets from Newcastle fans especially centered on Porto striker  Vincent Aboubaka with Lee Ryder of the Chronicle saying there is nothing to the reports we are after him.

    Wilshere
Congratulations on your marriage to Andriani. I’m guessing you’ve watched big fat Greek wedding 😉

Now, this guy may have percentage points to spare. He may be 100 pc committed to his team and only like 50 pc to nufc. Hmm

    Re-post:
I really like the look of Aboubakar. He seems (from my extensive knowledge of watching half a Youtube video) like a Ba/Martins hybrid which I think could be a brilliant thing.
Striker-wise, I would be looking to bringing in Aboubakar and one other player with Daryl Murphy going.

I would definitely keep Mitrovic because despite the criticism of him, he was essential in certain matches last season alongside having a decent first season in the Premiership. It’s easy to forget that he’s only 22 and though you could turn around and say ‘Tammy Abraham scored so much more than Mitro and he’s 19 etc.’ there’s a number of factors that need to be considered.
Mitro definitely needs to improve in a number of aspects to his game but why can’t we give him the opportunity to improve with us? He’s blatantly got the talent so why can’t we bring in some more experienced players such as Aboubakar and give Mitro the chance to develop and breakthrough. By taking the pressure of his shoulders, we could see a much better player.

Honestly, I’m not entirely sure what type of player should be brought in alongside Aboubakar but I’d suggest a player who knows what the Premier League is all about. I think we should look to do something similar to our Daryl Murphy move. It should be a player who wouldn’t necessarily make it into our first team but is experienced enough and good enough to make an impact when called upon. A Remy or Koné type player could be extremely valuable – By the way, these are just the first two that sprung to mind and I’m sure there are better options.

Armstrong and Heardman should be loaned out to Championship teams that are specifically suited to their style of play. If they don’t do brilliantly then I think we can draw a line under them.

P.s. Why isn’t my Gravatar picture coming up?

ToonHamster – As Jackball said you have to use the same email address to register your Gravatar picture that you use with the blog – that’s how it pairs them together.

Watch this Video, looks like a good player. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMvJFrvvA0U
If he can do this to players, he will scare the crap out of some premier defenders, god this could be an amazing signing.

From Newsnow….don’t know if this is old or new news but another spinning plate still spinning

Newcastle United’s pursuit of Montpellier midfielder Ryad Boudebouz has been given a boost after Lyon chose to pull out of the race for his signature.
The Algeria international is expected to leave Montpellier this summer, with the French club looking for in excess of £13m in order to part with their star asset.
Boudebouz has no shortage of potential suitors with Newcastle, Lazio and Bayer Leverkusen all keen.
He had also been attracting attention from Lyon, but according to Foot Mercato, the French giants have decided to pull out of the race to focus on alternative targets.

Delph would be a better bet than Acquah.

    Aboubakar looks useful.

Aboubaka would be an amazing signing, especially if we get Boudebouz in (that’s a name we haven’t seen in a good few transfer windows).

Quite like the away kit – if it’s genuine – too. It’s basically the 93-95 third kit, and I was a fan of that too.

No, we already tried that Shirebrook mate. Even with a very small rocket, the burning of a wheeled bobsled at the back adds very little speed (it was quite disappointing actually and it set the rocket on fire with beermonkey in it). Now we add an emergency exit….

@GeordieTwo. Here’s an amazing idea, why don’t you watch the whole 10 minutes and not just the first 1 minute. I watched the whole thing and saw plenty of goals and plenty of skill. Maybe extend that attention span a little longer than having sex.

Have you tried putting the bobsled inside the rocket? Also powering it with two old Nokia 3210 batteries really gives it some umpff! And reduces the risk of fire.
