The Chronicle is reporting today that Rafa wants a winger signed (this week) and it seems we have gone cold on Andros Townsend, with nothing in the news about the winger who may even want to stay at Palace now that former Ajax manager Frank de Boer is the manager there.
Newcastle have scout Steve Nickson in Poland at the moment watching the Euro U-21 Championships and it seems the club are interested in two young English wingers on display – Jacob Murphy of Norwich and Leicester City winger Demarai Gray.
We are also interested in 23 year-old Welsh International Tom Lawrence who plays at Leicester City.
Quite honestly, if we signed either one of the three it would be a pretty good acquisition for Newcastle – we would get a talented young winger who Rafa could coach into a top player in the next couple of years.
Tom Lawrence of Leicester City
Demarai Gray would probably be the favorite with Newcastle fans, but he would cost up to £20M and we have a feeling that Leicester City’s Tom Lawrence, who was really good on loan at Ipswich Town last season, would be a good buy for us.
The 23 year-old 6 times capped Welsh International had a great season and scored 11 goals at Ipswich in 36 total games for the East Anglia club.

The price for the players is estimated at up to £20M for Gray, maybe £8M for Murphy – although Ipswich want closer to £12M for him – and around £8M for Lawrence.
Jacob Murphy – impressive for Norwich
Jacob Murphy has been a player attracting interest from some top clubs, after he had a very good season at Norwich City scoring 8 goals in 37 Championship games for the Canaries last season.
So which of these three would you sign – always being aware of their value – given their estimated transfer fees.
What do you think?
