England International Would Be Good Acquisition – But Only On Loan

Rafa Benitez wants to bring in an experienced goalkeeper to add some experience to the Newcastle defense for next season.

And so far we have missed out on both Pepe Reina of Napoli and former Manchester City goalkeeper Willy Caballero, who was a free agent and signed on at Chelsea yesterday.

Either of those two players would have been good additions to the Newcastle squad.

Joe Hart on loan last season at Torino

There have been rumors this summer  we were interested in England goalkeeper Joe Hart and news in the Mail yesterday that Newcastle have made an enquiry for the goalkeeper, who has no future at Manchester City under manager Pep Guardiola.

But Joe is not worth £20M to us – if that is the price put on Joe’s head by City – and maybe a season on loan at Newcastle would be a better proposition and Rafa could then assess how Joe is over a full season.

Certainly Joe will want to play first team football next season so he can keep his place in the England side for the World Cup in Russia next summer.

But it doesn’t seem to make any sense for Newcastle to pay out a huge outlay for a goalkeeper when that seems the least of our concerns with the side.

Rob Elliot and/or Karl Darlow are able to get the job done for for us next season in the Premier League.

We expect veteran Tim Krul to be sold this summer, although Rafa’s intentions for the Dutch International are not really clear and we expect top young prospect Freddie Woodman to be loaned out to a Championship club for the season so he gets first team games.

Matz Sels will spend next season on loan at Anderlecht where he will get some Champions League experience back in Belgium.

What do you think about getting Joe Hart on loan?

Made this team from apparently available players.
    Hart/Reina
    Kieran Gibbs
    Kurt Zouma
    Ciaran Clark/Lejeunes
    Calum Chambers
    Lucas/fernando
    Matt Ritchie
    Jonjo Shelvey
    Andre Gray/Navas
    Kelechi Iheanacho
    Michy Batshuayi
    That’s a pretty good side

If u compare him to what we have Hart starts every week, I rate Darlow but Rafa doesnt seem too and less said about Elliot the better as far as am concerned Krul is still a option but sounds unlikely and Woodman needs experience

If he’s good enough to be Englands No1 then he’s good enough to be Nufc’s

Another point is we keep banging on about Harts wages, So say it’s a no go.
Yet Fernando was on 110 k at City but we can afford him ??

Again, if we are hunting keepers it’s going to be a disappointing summer.

Hart may probably be clever enough to realise he’s had his best wages deal already, and if he moves anywhere it will drop. Especially as he is being dumped, basically.

    Morning mate

The same can probably aimed at Leiva or Gray.
An average Pl wage now is probably around our top line we pay out.
To just survive we gonna have to break both our wage fee and wage structure.Do you think we will do either of the above ??

I honestly dont know mate hope so but u can never be sure

Doesnt Gray just want around 70k? Is that not in our wage bracket am sure Colo was on that much and Ive heard rumours of others being on around that level

Yeah sounds about right for Colo, But like I say that’s what most premiership players are on now. So unless we go down the import route again we ain’t gonna get what we wish for.
I bet Gibbs gonna demand around the 70k Mark and like Tsunki says.. Hart will probably realise now that he won’t get anywhere near what he was on at Man City, Unless he goes to China
