There’s some excellent news coming through tonight from a couple of local north-east journalists that Florian Lejeune is in Newcastle and he is undergoing his medical, which is expected to go through as a formality.

Being the first day of preseason is a great time to get our second signing through the door this summer and we have been after the 26 year-old Frenchman for weeks now.

The news was out earlier today was that Newcastle Managing Director Lee Charnley had told the Fans Forum members on Thursday night at their meeting at St. James’ Park,  that Newcastle had several signings to be announced soon and Florian looks like he’s the first one over the line.

Keith Downie of Sky Sports and Lee Ryder of the Chronicle have given the news that Florian should be signed soon and will probably be announced tomorrow.

So what we need is for Florian to be announced tomorrow – maybe even later tonight – and then a couple more signings in the next few days and we will be in much better shape as far as incoming transfers go.

Howay The Bonnie Lads!!

Comments welcome.

Note:

One of our readers Alex Wannop is completing in the GN 10K next Sunday and also the GN Run to collect funds for Tiny Lives, because the Trust provided lifesaving care for his son Isaac, when he was born by C-section and in some distress.

The Tiny Lives Trust funds the Special Care Baby Unit at the RVI where Alex’s son Isaac spent the first few weeks of his life.

Alex is appreciative of the work the great doctors and nurses did to save his son’s life and that’s why he’s raising money.

Please support this very worthwhile charity on Alex’s Just Giving page where there are pictures of his son Isaac – thanks.
