There is news coming out of London today that Middlesbrough, who are on the lookout for a new goalkeeper, have bid £5M for Darren Randoph of West Ham.
The Hammers are close to taking England International goalkeeper Joe Hart on a season loan deal to London.
And Middlesbrough have recently allowed both goalkeepers Victor Valdes and American Brad Guzan to leave the club this summer – so they need to sign a goalkeeper for next season in the Championship.
That bid is a similar £5M bid that was made for Newcastle goalkeeper Karl Darlow a few weeks back but turned down, so we suppose that puts some question mark on whether the Smoggies are still interested in Karl.
Darren Randolph – West Ham goalkeeper – may be available
It was also possible that a swap deal between Karl Darlow and 21 year-old Middlesbrough winger Adama Traore was possible, but there has to be some doubt about that potential deal too.
But the Hammers will not let Randolph leave until the Joe Hart loan is a certainty – the news is that while it’s close it has not been fully worked out yet.
Boro have bid £5m for Randolph. #WHUFC are mulling it over.

We cannot see Newcastle being interested in signing Darren Randolph, because he is no better than goalkeepers already at the club – Karl Darlow, Rob Elliott and Tim Krul.
We think Rafa is still hoping we can attract Pepe Reina to Newcastle, but push will have to come shove fairly soon and we need to sign some players for next season – hopefully still some of our top targets.
What do you think?

I didn’t. Our management structure still is substandard. One person doesn’t solve all the other areas that aren’t under the control of the head coach.

Comment #123It honestly makes you wonder how the man is so successful in his other businesses after appointing that joke of a board two years ago, it had disaster written all over it.

Here’s the quote from the Chronicle:-
He is a Newcastle fan, of course, and there is a picture circulating on social media of him and brother Josh in a United kit as kids. There’s a familial link – his parents are Newcastle fans based off a love of Kevin Keegan and Jacob has spoken of his admiration for Alan Shearer and support for Newcastle.

Comment #128At least we’ve got a match tonight to take our mind of signings. I wonder if we’ll see SDJ in the starting eleven or how near to our starting eleven minus new signings tonight will be.

Comment #130Jail, couldn’t agree more mate, the difference here is that nobody else is trying to buy him. The reality is he’s not for sale at the moment, so we’ve got a bit of a free run on him simply because he desperately wants to come to us. That might not last, but whilst it’s there, we should do what we can to save money. (I think we’re starting to get each other now mate). If he comes on the open market then we pay the going rate, but Norwich really don’t want to sell him. I might be thinking like Penfold here which is a bit worrying! 🙂 At the end of the day though, the lad wants to come here and I agree with Penfold (God forgive me) that if we can sneak in a cheaper deal then go for it.

Interesting if true. Would be very disappointing to lose a talented youngster to a club showing greater ambition than us.
Ron,
Cheers for that.

Comment #134Jail, to be fair, would you? We all know we ain’t top priority to Ashley unfortunately and home comforts will always come first. Wish it was different, but it ain’t.
By ‘would you’ I mean if you owned any other club other than Newcastle. I’d be no good, I’d blow my last penny on the club, but I might not if I owned, say, Spurs, or Boro etc. Being fans definitely taints our views.

Comment #135Our Toon, tonight would be a good time for my suggestion of live TV for a small price. Hearts are offering it at a one off price of £5.99. Chances are thousands of our fans will tune into it and they’ll benefit. Fair do’s to them, but we could do the same.
I just see it as a revenue stream we might be missing out on.

Comment #136Everton are set to sign young Newcastle United defender Lewis Gibson according to former Sky Sports and now ESPN journalist Pete O’Rourke on twitter.
If true it shows that we have talent – we just never give it a chance
