Delighted Newcastle Fans Take To Twitter To Discuss Jacob Murphy Signing

Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter and most of them are pleased that we have agreed what looks a decent deal for the club with £10M cash going to Norwich City up front for Jacob Murphy and £2M in add-ons based on his performance at Newcastle.

So that’s £10M this summer for a young English winger who shows enormous promise and who has speed and skill down the wing.

It looks like we will be counter-attacking to good effect next season in the Premier League and Rafa still wants to bring in Liverpool winger Sheyi  Ojo on loan next season.

Jacob Murphy – to take medical today

And even though the Telegraph was reporting yesterday Newcastle could get a permanent deal for £10M for the 20 year-old  – that seems unlikely.

It’s more likely to be a season loan deal with potentially an option to buy Ojo next summer.

Again that’s a cheap way to bring in another good young player into the squad for next season when we are just a little bit short of money this summer – at least compared to other PL clubs.

Here are some typical comments from Newcastle fans.

This is from last night.

Presumably this is when he was on his way to Germany.

Here’s a much better report on exactly what Rafa has been saying. If this doesn’t stop the flap, nothing will. He not only uses the word ‘hopefully’ for Ashley, but also for himself. He’s not even prepared to talk about leaving.

.com has a pic of Gouffy in his new Goztepe T-shirt. Have to say he looks delighted to have signed for them.

Cheers Mark, it would be nice to see him move to a club where his goal scoring Is as good as it has been for us, maybe Scumberland, after all they “sold” Defoe so will be needing another deadly marksman……who better than Riviere?

Jail, from previous. It would be ideal to give them shorter contracts then increase them, but I can’t see agents agreeing to it. It would also give them chance to demand a wage increase every time they renew. The current situation isn’t ideal mate, but I think it’s the best we can hope for.

Thankfully, even our luck isn’t that bad, I would prefer Riviere to go there than Darryl Murphy, he would score goals for them , Riviere maybe not so much

Toontaff, that’s taken just after missing another sitter. You can’t see Mitro, who’s just landed an uppercut. 🙂

    Bobby,

I was thinking it was because of a guy in the crowd with a high powered sniper rifle who’d finally had enough.

    Excellent post. cheers mate!
That does two things. It clears a lot more up, as well as telling me that certain papers really are just trying to sell stories by taking advantage of our paranoia about Ash.

Why so many wingers? That’s Ritchie, Atsu, Aarons, Murphy and possibly Ojo. Presumably, they could be used in the No. 10 role, as well.
