At Least Two Newcastle Players Interesting Clubs In Transfer Window

There are some clubs interested in at least two of our players who are available for transfer and who Rafa Benitez and Managing Director Lee Charnley will want to move out as soon as possible.

We should be seeing players moving in both directions in the next two weeks before our first Premier League game kicks off two weeks tomorrow against Spurs at St. James’ Park.

Le 10 Sport are reporting that Saint-Etienne is interested in signing Newcastle left-back Massadio Haidara who joined us four years ago last January from Nancy for around £2M.

Massadio Haidara in action for Magpies against the Saints in Premier League

Haidara doesn’t seem to have a future Newcastle and had suffered some injuries in his time at Newcastle but he still a very decent player.

And another French club Metz seems confident they can p[ersuade striker Emmanual Riviere to join them back in the French League.

Manu joined us from Monaco three years ago for £6M, but he just was never good enough for the Magpies – if truth be told.

This news comes in French newspaper L’Equipe after Turkish Super League club Osmanlispor had been in detailed negotiations to sign the 27-year-old striker and were said to be close to a deal.

So the hope would be Newcastle can transfer Manu and maybe recoup some of the 6M we paid out for him.

Rafa will get some fees for the outgoing transfers such as Riviere and Haiadara which the manager can then spend in this transfer window.

Also, we get their wages off the wage bill for the coming season which is just as important.

We’d like to see a few of our players moved out before the season starts two weeks tomorrow and if possible a couple of star players brought in too.

That’s not asking too much – is it?

🙂

Look who we signed in 2010 under Hughton then Pardwho and almost finished tenth. I wish people would have a little bit of faith.

Jazzy/giimps…I don’t think clubs take pity on us if Rafa comes out saying we are almost broke 🙂

…and prices don’t just go up if we have money. Of course if you want a certain player and the club is reluctant to sell then a price will be set…a high one of course!

True if one of the big clubs are after your players then your inclined yo raise the bar a little higher…

That was based on the Sissoko money mate which is installment based so we can count that in as a solid money base supposedly 5 mill every 6 months so thats 15 mill we have had of it…which wouldnt even of covered the fees (which get ignored in these easy in and out transfer lists) around the deals we have already done Id imagine

As Jack Root has said previously Ashley doesn’t get involved in the running of the club and that goes for transfers and their cost as he has previously stated that the club has to be self financing, which I believe it is.

Charnley will have shown the books to Benitez and this will have determined how much can be spent on buying players and how much those that Benitez wants to sell are possibly worth.

Haven’t been on for a while but have to say really happy with the merino signing. The type of player we should be going for. Would love us to sign Allan too and our midfield would be brilliant from Hayden, Shelvey, merino and Allan. Allan is very underrated and a top quality player, very surprised to see he is available for £10 million. Would need a top cf brought in to compete with gayle and mitro but I’m currently unsure who that should be. Loan for batshuayi would make sense for us but ideally would have liked iheanacho but he seems out of our reach unfortunately.

We have one of the lowest wage bill in the league – 16th to be exact, so I don’t believe there was a problem with our costs. We’ve been making profit each year. The board said we are strong financially each and every year. Year in a championship wasn’t profitable but we generated enough money by selling our highest earners for huge amounts so the drop didn’t effect us.

Maybe it is! But Rafa has made the point that criticism during a game doesn’t help the team. Collectively and individually.
I saw the two trips to Brighton in FA
Cup and know your feelings. I just don’t agree with your point. Benitez prioritised securing PL status.

Wage bill for the season we got relegated http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-uniteds-wage-bill-revealed-12858274
I don’t see it changing much from then and now but our revenue decreased considerably last year so I imagine a huge amount was used for wages, much more than 60%. So yeah I don’t think we have much money at all this summer.

    WW…,
Like I didn’t explain myself well to Bobby the other day, the quality of players hasn’t improved in line with prices. La Liga has always attracted the very best due to the money Barca and Real have and the PL gets a lot of the rest. If Kyle Walker was the best in England it wouldn’t matter if he was 5M or 50M he wouldn’t be joining us. Just because prices have gone up whatever percent it doesn’t necessarily mean the quality has.Are there better players in the league than Viera, Cantona or Bergkamp just because their price tag has been grossly inflated.

One further thing. Rafa did underestimate the level of inflationary transfer fees this summer when drawing up his initial transfer plan. He acknowledged as much hence the rethink. Criticism of Charnley is misplaced under the circumstances. As I’ve said previously there will be a redress towards the end of the window.

Everyone wants a bargain and at a price that’s right for you.
I don’t believe for one minute half the players Man City have bought would be valued at the inflated prices if a say Swansea or Southampton had gone in for em.

The spending power has improved though we cant compete on either wages or fee. If we go head to head with another PL club they can out bid us, Rafa said we missed out on all our top targets so far because of it

Its all well and good saying u just pay more for the same quality now vs then but that doesnt make the prices shrink and we need players

Anyhow must go got work soon

From what I have seen in the friendly’s so far I reckon the squad is a lot stronger than it’s getting credit for by many on the blog.

I know they are against lower ranked teams but the team work and effort ethos is plain to me and the incoming players look to be very shrewd buys.

The (hopefully) resurgent former sick notes on the team, I won’t bother to name, them look to be in great form and really are like new signings.

The Hayden/Shelvey combo looks to be a great match and displacing them will be challenge for the newcomers although I’m glad to admit that Diame is looking like a new player so far and was close to being MOM against Bradford.

Today’s game will be a real test and whilst I’d like a win, I’d be happier with a good performance from the lads even if we did lose.

We have for a very long time been probably the most unpredictable team going, you never know whether we’ll turn up or not, if we do expect us giving any top side a good game when we don’t turn up expect the most terrible dross served up possible, we can even change from one half to the next.
Your right we have just played lesser teams, so it’s hard to say what we’re going to be like against stronger opponents.
    Hopefully we’ll have enough.
