Massadio Haidara never quite made it at Newcastle since he was signed for £2M from Nancy four years ago last January when Newcastle signed five Frenchmen in a bid to avoid relegation.
In that particular season, it worked well, and we did avoid relegation.
L’Equipe have reported that Haidara is now undergoing a medical before his transfer to St. Etienne from the Magpies.
For Sadio to be going through the medical right now, then a transfer fee must have been agreed with Newcastle and terms must be acceptable to the 24-year-old left full-back.
Massadio Haidara – having medical at St. Etienne
Haidraa has been troubled with several serious injuries since he’s been on Tyneside and he’s appeared only 52 times for the first team in that time.
And last season he made only 3 appearances for Newcastle including two starts during our promotion season.
LeEquipe are reporting the deal would be on a free transfer but that we would have a sell-on clause in case St Etienne sell him in the future for a profit.
Usually, we would ask for about 25% of that profit – but the news is that it will be a sizable 50%.
It’s important for Newcastle to sell players who no longer have a future at the club this summer and Massadio is one of those.

I agree with you that it’s an identifier but the line can be crossed quite quickly, comments afterwards weren’t identifiers. Not comments from you directly I think as I skipped past them quickly. Hitler also had an identifier, he wanted blue eyes and blonde hair!!
Surely we can discuss football

Comment #127I’m all for discussing football, it’s my own fault ,I was drawn in by someone (sorry, can’t remember who ) mentioning a persons hair color before their name is racist, I think you’d agree that is totally ridiculous, as is mentioning Hitler to try and prove an unprovable point

Comment #131Wor lass is a redhead. Twas love at first sight because she was stunningly beautiful and still is.
Tell the young uns to be proud of their colour Oldgit1.
Just from curiosity mate, are they rhesus negative blood group as well? Lots of redheads are, just wondered. Wor lass is a twin, two redheads in a family of dark haired people.
They stand out in a good way. Your young uns will as well. Don’t let it bug you mate, if they turn out anything like our lass they’ll be beautiful loving kind people – what more can you ask for?

It’s not racist, Oldgit took offence to it the other day, kicked off wrongly about a comment earlier today thinking it was to do with colback being ginger rather than acknowledging he’s shite. Some of the comments afterwards weren’t nice after everyone knew it was a topic which that individual already takes offence to.
Bobby ahaha, good comment mate. See some more movement this week with targets?

Comment #134Hasn’t women’s football come on leaps and bounds this last five years? The difference is unbelievable really. Really fancy us to win this now. Tough semi like, with the home nation to beat and possibly the reserve keeper – who looked a bit shaky when she came on – but don’t see any other team we should worry about now we’ve beaten France.

Comment #135OT, hopefully. Seems some hold up with Riviere moving out though. Some trouble with his medical. Seems we hadn’t noticed he hasn’t got a heart or a pair of balls. Or maybe just splinters in his backside from being happy to sit on it rather than fight for his place.

Comment #136OAS, I would have Yedders as fullback mate and Clark hadn’t done anything wrong to deserve to be dropped, but basically I think you ain’t far out there.

Comment #137Bobbybee @134 – It certainly has and it was an enjoyable game to watch. England have a great defence martialled by Steph Houghton. She’s tough as old boots and probably better than a quite a few defenders I’ve seem playing for NUFC!

Comment #138good game tonight, England could win this with a bit luck and hopefully show the senior men the way to do it, not just to increase their wealth, or get a better image rights contract but for their country, our country

Comment #139Mart, the game we took Scotland apart was particularly impressive, with some lovely one touch football they just couldn’t live with. In fact, having watched the mackems’ dismal performance against Celtic B, they should sign the whole team up. They’d beat their current crop of crap imo. 🙂

Comment #140What’s all this shite about bonfire bollix?
He’s shite.
And his bollix are on fire.
End of.
With the possibility of a few freckles here and there.
The advantages of having a ginger in the team are clear.
Whilst he succumbs to the rare yet beautiful form known as spontaneous human combustion, distracting our opponents in the process, we nip down the other end and put it in the onion bag.
Jobs a good’n.

Comment #141I think we do have twenty two players of genuine epl quality covering all positions, among them a couple who are probable stand outs, and quite a few who can be outstanding on a given day, but you do need more than two great players week in week out, and those players need to be reliable. A bit of work to be done yet to add that needed bit of polish to the group to give us something to cheer about this season, but enough there already for Rafa to keep us up.

Comment #142Bobby – Forgetting the olive branch, old Tuff, so his former public sector colleagues say is as bald as a coot. For those in the know his comment was really funny. He apparently always wears a knotted handkerchief on his head whilst in the sun on holiday. Brits abroad you couldna make it up!

Comment #143The knotted hankie always reminds me of Monty Python and the sketch ‘My Brain Hurts’. 🙂 Remember it anyone? They don’t make comedy like that anymore, for sure. Don’t think I’ve seen ANYBODY wear a hanky like that since that sketch actually. The power of comedy!! 🙂

Comment #146Bobby – yedlin better going forward than defending in my humble opinion. I can see Mbemba being sold but totally agree Clark has done nothing wrong. I hope he continues his improvement under rafa.

Sorry but I have to object to lowercaseism, surely Dummett is equally deserving of having his name spelt with a capital letter.

Comment #148OneAlanShearer what makes you say that as it seems like a judgement based on the fact he gets forward so he can’t defend. I watched Yedlin closely last season especially on his defensive side and he was quality. Teams often pumped long diagonal passes at him and he was winning 90% of them battles in the air. He was also difficult to shake off and often made the wise player pass back to their defender. Based on what I have seen Yedlin is better going forward and defensively than manquillo. Very strange the way fans can have such different opinions when the games they watch are the same.

Comment #149Also I have a feeling we may see Aaron’s and de Jong force their way into the starting 11. I hope we go out and buy a new top class no10 though as it’s the priority position for me followed very closely by a striker.

Comment #150It’s all about opinions folks.
With regard to yedlin I think when I’ve seen him make mistakes they have stood out. Manquillo is defensive first off not 2nd. It was a tight call ad neither are the finished article. We won’t but someone who is. Also yedlin is injured isn’t he which swayed me.
Sdj is decent back up. We have A good squad just need 3 or 4 experienced top quality players now. Loads of potential in this squad. I like It. We have the depth we’ve been missing in previous seasons just need a better starting xi. Especially gk,lb,No.10, striker.
I basically think the huge step up to the premier league means we have to get in just that bit more top quality for this side to be competitive. Once rafa has drilled them all into a cohesive unit we are going to be hard to break down and capable of winning games. Right now is see us drawing a lot as we are short of a cutting edge. Rafa won’t want to start behind he’s too thorough

Comment #151Nufc – I think we have real competition on both wings. They will all step it up to get in the team which is ideal. Right now is start Murphy and Ritchie but Aaron’s has showed he’s ready for the fight and atsu just behind in my opinion
