Newcastle Fans Flock To Twitter To Discuss Possible Lucas Vasquez And Lucas Perez Signings

Newcastle has been linked with two top Spanish forwards this Sunday morning.

We have been linked with a possibility of getting Lucas Vasquez of Real Madrid on loan for the season and we have been linked also with Arsenal striker Lucas Perez.

We are said to be willing to bid £17M for Perez from Arsenal in a straight transfer.

The truth is we’d be lucky to sign either of these forwards who would certainly add to the class at Newcastle – but we do have Rafa Benitez and he could be a big draw for Spanish players.

Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter this morning to discuss both these players with the general feeling being we’d be lucky to sign either player – but either one would be a good signing for us.

Be smart business to get Perez in but from what Ive read hes pretty set on a return to his former club

Reckon it wouldnt take 18 mill either considering how badly treated he has been and how open he is about his anger

I saw yesterday he turned down a move to Metz (I assume they wouldnt match his wage demands) so fingers crossed the Turkey team will otherwise we are stuck with him (for another year I think?)

Tbf hes fed up with England because of the way Wenger has treated him he was very happy to move to England a year ago, he is hitting his prime now and if Rafa could convince him he’d be a big part of NUFCs future it might sway him…pretty sure we would pay more than the clubs in Spain who are interested in him as well so cant discount that factor

I agree though it might be too late to change his mind (though maybe not his agents?) worth the effort though

Morning Ron…how’s the weather in SW France?

You are right about Aarons…he’s a concern!

I would like us to sign a proper experienced LB, an alternative to Shelvey (we look woeful when he’s missing) and a +15 goal striker.

    Then I’ll be a happy camper ?

    Ron, he has no fight!
Last season’s home pre-season friendly, he was outside the players’ entrance long before kick off, along with a couple of others. Didn’t seem at all bothered that Rafa clearly did not even want him near the squad during the warm up/ team talk.

Sounds about right! The starting XI yesterday looked disjointed without Shelvey.
    More rain today. Poor holidaymakers!

Let’s hope we can offload him somewhere!

We have moved on the Murph and the Gouff, so as it stands we need 1 more forward, even without shifting Mitro on. Would be good if we had Lucas Perez, Gayle and Mitro.

    SHIELDS GAZETTE are reporting

L’Equipe report that discussions are “advanced” over a move to the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard. The proposed move, which is subject to an extensive medical, would see Haidara join the Ligue 1 club on a free transfer. However, Newcastle would be entitled to 50% of any future sale.

When he signed originally it was pretty much on a free so his wages would of reflected that and he wasnt worth it anymore (or ever tbf) the deal offered reflected his importance to the club cant blame Rafa for that

He wont be missed next season imo

He was encouraged to move on when Rafa was still hopeful of getting his primary targets. The situation is different now, as Rafa admits.
I’m not a big fan of Gouffran, but he offers more than most of our deadwood.

Sign him up Rafa and watch him score a hatrick against the gooners lol

Rafa wanted him to stay from the end of last year mate there was no encouragement to leave from him, he just got offered what he was worth and saw a better deal elsewhere

At the end of the day hes not as good as any of the wingers we have now and has never offered enough up top to even be considered there…Jonas he is not before last season he was offering exactly the same as the dead wood we have now fluked his way back into the team as Aarons got injured and had a good spell of form early doors then quickly returned to his norm

Why do people think we are short on wingers? We have Aaron’s, Atsu, Richie and Murphy. It’s probably our best stocked position. People may say you can’t count on Aaron’s but the lad has been purely unlucky with injuries it’s not like it’s a constant hamstring issue.

I am more worried about Cam as I am not sure De Jong is cut out for the prem. Behind him we have Diame and Perez who I don’t believe are cut out for that role (Diame can go to be honest).

Then striker is a big worry as we only have Gayle and Perez who should be near the team. Mitro is completely useless and should be sold immediately.

Unless we get a very decent striker in I can hear Rafa talking about keeping calm all season as we fight in the bottom 6-7. Just how snall is his budget if we only have a net spend of 5mill so far. On a happier note I got the rafa book for hols 🙂

Aye lots of players fell in love with NUFC only to have Ashley throw them to the side, when he leaves hopefully a lot will see that feeling return

Best thing a new owner could do is bring Keegan and Shearer in from the cold not even in an important role necessarily but just get that connection back

    Ron,

If Vazqez and Perez need to be persuaded to join us, maybe you could quietly slip into Spain and use your undoubted charm on their families and agents? A glass or two of Sangria (the cheap stuff should do it) might help. You could be the unofficial ambassador – with Moncur’s blessing of course.

Oh, and while you’re on your feet, maybe you could have a word with Rieviere, Saviet and Haidara and assure them that we love them to pieces but……..

    WW

As Ron’ll be working behind the scenes in Spain and France, maybe you could have a word with Arsene to soften him up. Don’t go daft with the expenses though – the Club’s not made of money.

The club has a £4.5 million net spend… there is absolutely no reason why Perez couldn’t be added without having to move Mitrovic out. Perez comes in for Murphy – Mitrovic only moving if better can be found. Nothing wrong with keeping options open. It would be demoralising if all that time was put into Mitrovic – only for somebody else to get his international form at club level.

Arsenal would not be expecting their money back in Perez. If they want him shifted out, they have to take a hit, especially now he is approaching his 30s.

£12/14 million would probably do it. I would like to believe the funds are there… leaving it to Benitez’ discretion. Competition for Perez’ signature would scare Charnley off, but I have not seen many clubs reportedly showing interest yet.

Talked to some Arsenal fans who were at the game against Benfica. If things go well in retaining Sanchez they can see Arsenal shedding some players towards the end of the window. Amongst Ox Chamberlain, Ramsey, Walcott, Giroud and Chambers.
Giroud would be an obvious upgrade on Mitro. It takes time to bed players in so why not delay spending until towards, end, of window to get players of proven known quality. Walcott has apparently been playing as if desperate to stay.
