The Chronicle is reporting today that Newcastle has gone after a new striker target – and he’s been identified as 27-year-old German striker Joselu of Stoke City.
Joselu was born in Stuttgart, West Germany, and attended school in the country for four years before his Spanish family returned to Galicia in Spain.
Joselu has been at Stoke for only a couple of years, and he signed on for £5.75M in 2015 and last season he was sent on loan to Deportivo when he scored 6 goals in 24 appearances.
Here’s the tweet sent out by the Chronicle chief sports writer Lee Ryder which hopefully will start some intense negotiations from Newcastle to try to get some new players into the club.
#nufc haven’t placed a firm bid for Joselu yet but there has been an enquiry. Talks ongoing.

The striker stands over 6ft 3ins tall and began his career at Celta Vigo back in 2008 and was on Real Madrid’s books for two years from 2010 but only played twice for the Real Madrid first team.
After leaving Madrid in 2012, he moved to the German Bundesliga where he played for 1899 Hoffenheim, Eintracht Frankfurt and Hannover 96 before moving to Stoke City two years ago.
Personal Note: I have been investigated twice in the last couple of weeks by NewNow because I am not abiding by their guidelines for articles.
I have just been told I will be suspended for two weeks from NewsNow and I have a feeling it may be more than that.
I have been on NewsNow for 10 years and this is my first suspension.
But, it’s not good because I only have a certain amount of energy these days and my health is hardly good – therefore I have to decide where to place that limited energy.
So I have decided to take some time off and decide whether I can keep this site going after 10 years of operations.
I feel I have been very unfairly targeted – but that’s life – it’s really tough.

Comment #283Ashley will be delighted at all these stories about us after all these players while spending very little. Leopards do not change their spots, neither do fat snakes
