Fans Swarm To Twitter To Welcome 21-Year-Old Kenedy To Newcastle

Right out of the blue – this is the third successive time it’s happened – Newcastle signed 21-year-old midfielder/defender Kenedy last night on loan for the season with presumably an option to buy him next summer if he does very well for us next season.

Kennedy is one of Chelsea’s top young players who needs some first team experience away from the Blues and he was recalled from his loan spell at Watford in January to rejoin the Chelsea first team squad for the run-in to winning the Premier League last season.

He was sent home in disgrace from the Chelsea tour of China in the summer – but he will be hoping to put that all behind him at Newcastle and do a job for our club this term.

21-year-old Kenedy of Chelsea

We’re sure Newcastle fans will warmly welcome him on board and support him as long as he works his socks off for the side.

The immensely experienced Rafa Benitez will be a huge help to this young player in his current circumstances.

Here are some typical tweets from Newcastle fans on the good news we have signed Kenedy on loan.

Lochinvar – from previous – I agree I don’t really see that he did anything terribly wrong – just a lack of judgement. We’ve all put a few dodgy posts on our social media but the difference is nobody is bothered because we’re not in the public eye.
However I’m not sure we need yet another winger and some have said playing Left Back didn’t suit him unless Rafa sees him as a striker as an understudy to Gayle?

Well it’s another signing that’s come in under the radar. Just shows what the papers know. The square root of fcuk all to be precise.

I don’t think Rafa will play 343 but the ideal team for this formation would be:

    Atsu—Gayle—Murphy
    Ritchie—Shelvey—Merino—Yedlin
    Clarke—Lejuene—Lascelles
    GK?

Are we really justifying that because he’s signed for us?

Kennedy said Porra China which means fcuk China, he also said “Wake up China, you idiot.” In reference to a security guard asleep, who probably works more hours in 1 day than he does in an entire. He comments were shocking and disrespectful, he’s apologised but let’s not try to justify his comments.

When I linked to this news bit last night I thought it was a strange on…sure Rafa is going to have at least 30% wrong, but the thing is we don’t really need another winger and no way is he going to play LB…probably as much as Lazaar did!

But could he simply be our new forward?

I’m not really bothered what he’s done in China tbh could give two shinny sh#*s, as long as he plays well and behaves while he’s here happy days!!!

Wonder if one of our existing wingers is going to be used as a no.10. Possibly richie since this lad is left sided. Another surprise signing.

I agree mate. Everyone makes a transgression at some point, it’s the justifying of it that irks me a little.

I see him as back up for Gayle

As far as I’ve thus lad was a winger / left sided striker. Similar positionally to Henry. Aware that he has played LB but don’t read much into that tbh.

Can he play as a forward? Wiki (ok not exactly best source) has him as a winger and occasional LB.

Our Toon – Nobody is justifying it just saying ill judged considering he was in China. The security guard thing was obviously just supposed to be humorous with no thought about working long hours etc. The word porra is Portuguese slang with no direct translation but somewhere between F*** and Hell. Not a clever thing to say when you are visiting China but it hardly makes him NIall Ranger.

It’s Kenedy, one ‘N’, right? Literally a left-field signing… Again this demonstrates that nobody knows what Rafa is doing or thinking. Not one journo knew anything of this until he signed.

Anyways, be interesting to see what happens over the next 48 hours with new signings as I think Rafa’s message was loud and clear yesterday. We need a breakthrough with the striker situation as I’m not sure Gayle’s head is in the right place at the minute. The lad ‘had a feeling’ so didn’t play in the last friendly. Maybe it’s the club wrapping him in cotton wool but I’m sure Gayle didn’t play in some games at the end of last season as he didn’t feel confident in his hammy despite reassurances it would be fine. Come on Ashley, sort it out and get Lucas Perez through the door before Sunday and what an atmosphere it will be even if he didnt play!
