Newcastle Fans Split On The Result Today Against Spurs

It’s hard to get much closer than a three way split at around 33% for a win, 33% for a draw and 33% for a defeat but that’s close to what the results of our poll are for the Tottenham game today – at the time of writing.

In our poll for today’s game 35% think we will win, 34% think we will lose, and 31% think we will draw the game.

We’d be happy enough as long as we pick up something today – especially after some of the results of yesterday when Chelsea were 3-0 down and lost 3-2 at home to Burnley and were reduced to 9 men by the end of the game.

What we do expect to see today is a well organized Newcastle side who work their socks off for the cause for the full 90 minutes of the game and concentrate all the time – 100%.

Confident Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez

If we get that from the lads, we should be OK.

Last season Spurs won 17 of their 19 league games at White Hart Lane but away from home they won just 9 games and drew six so they weren’t nearly as good on the road.

And maybe that’s why we could shock everybody and win this game today.

That would give Newcastle fans a huge lift.

While this may look insightful and ITK
Bear in mind the author’s Sunlun allegiance and the timing of it just 13 hours before KO

    Match day

Fair to say I’ve never slept a bloody wink with excitement.

Worth a read to maybe get some more insight into what’s being happening in the background – you would be tempted to point the finger at Charnley for not delivering on Rafa’s targets.
However we’ve actually made great signings of players who want to be part of NUFC and wear the shirt – that speaks volumes for those players. The likes of Tammy may find they’ve been bullied into the wrong decision.

Not sure that missing out on the likes of McCarthy is a concern for most of us and it’s now down to Charnley to deliver the missing links. Clearly Kenedy needs to happen otherwise Charnley and Rafa ain’t going to be dunking their biscuits out of the same tea cup.

And now it’s £20m ( think of a number , double it , pick any card ) for Perez so Loic Remy from Chelsea is now an option ?

Rafa: “We were not demanding crazy things. We were demanding to do things in the right way — like we did with Liverpool, with Chelsea and all the other clubs. With a professional staff all working together.”

Instead, he was stuck with Charmless!

Ed, the fans are always going to be split.

When was the last time, if ever, all the fans voted exclusively for a win or a draw or a loss ?

All the pundits are almost unanimous that it will be a Spurs victory based on sound logic that Spurs are a top high flying, high scoring team with many world class players and Newcastle are none of these.

But, the first day of the season always throws up unpredictable results and yesterday was no different.

I believe we should be ‘more up for it’ than Spurs as we have more to prove and if you believe in ‘horses for courses’ you know that St James Park is a bogey ground for Spurs.

    2-1 to us.
