25-year-old Christian Atsu, the Ghanaian International winger, made it very clear last season while he was on loan from Chelsea that he would like nothing better than to make his move to Newcastle United permanent.
Christian wasn’t a starter last season but showed enough of his flair and ability for Rafa to make the deal permanent in late May.
And let’s just say that Christian was just delighted to have made the switch permanent to the very famous St. James’ Park club.
Christian had a great preseason for us this summer and started many of the preseason games.
And he was on the left wing yesterday when he had probably his best game ever for Newcastle and was easily our Man of the Match with a massive 70% of the vote.
Christian was always penetrating down the left wing against Spurs, and he was unlucky not to get an assist or even a goal as he was easily Newcastle’s best player on the day.

We hope we will see more of this from Christian, who has improved a lot under the guidance of manager Rafa Benitez, whom he admires greatly as one of the best managers in the world.
If Christian does keep improving, he will also become a bargain buy at only £6.2M.
What do you think?

Joselu seems to be gettin a hell of a lot of stick before he’s even had a medical…..give him a chance, there cant be to many seen him play regular, and to be honest…he’s looking like he’s all we can afford.

Comment #3Agree on atsu – improving into the player his potential showed last season. Could be a steal. I am looking forward to seeing Murphy as well. I would like to see us switch to 343 to accommodate both of them. I can see them over lapping with manquillo and Richie the other side being very potent

Comment #4Springy – I agree if this summer is anything to go by give players a chance. I really like manquillo- written off by some on Twitter before he’d even joined

Comment #5Just read that stoke forum pasted on the last thread. Stoke fans seem to rate Joselu a lot higher than Berahino. To be fair to the lad, the bit I have seen of him play makes him look decent in the air, but average elsewhere. I can see why fans are not too overwhelmed by him. The only concern I have is a CV which includes 4 clubs in 5 years, which is never a very good sign in my opinion.
