6 Players In – 12 Players Out – Net Spend Still Small For Newcastle

We were pleased to see Joselu finally sign for Newcastle earlier today and we are hoping he will become a savvy signing for Newcastle, and the Spanish striker offers us something different up front.

Joselu is very good in the air and provides a physical presence up front much like Daryl Murphy offered us last season.

Joselu is a better technical player than Daryl and maybe better in the air than Daryl is too, and he comes at a bargain basement price, and it’s (very) low-risk for Newcastle.

Given the financial problems we seem to have at the moment at Newcastle, it seems a sensible buy from Rafa.

We have six players in now, and Rafa wants another four players in over the next two weeks, and we still haven’t spent too much in net transfers – it’s around £22M at the moment which is not much at all.

New Newcastle signing Joselu

But the problem we have this summer is that we didn’t have last year is that we haven’t been able to sell some of our players like Tim Krul, Manu Riviere, and Henri Saivet.

ok here is my take on transfers and football
when a transfer takes place, normally it’s because the player catches the eye in a certain position, but IMO most managers don’t ask why he caught the eye, make the transfer, stick him in the team and he dosnt do what he did before. what went wrong? well his old club played a whole different style of football for one thing, you take a scoring attaker out of an attack minded team, with an attack minded coach, put him in a defensive team with a defensive coach then scratch your head why it didn’t work, P45 is the epitome of this way of ? thinking.
Fergy managed this way, only bought players to attack from attack minded teams, ( not kids , senior players)
Jose does the same thing, he likes hard working players with skill.
these guys are intellectually miles above most other managers, that’s why they are top most seasons,

In Rafa we do have a very good manager, you only have to look at Goofy last season to see this, he looks at abilities of his squads, and plays to there strengths, he builds players up, he enhances their abilities by putting the right players around them, SBR did the same, he told shearer to stop running the channels, and stay around the box.

i have been impressed with who we have signed so far, Rafa will work his magic on these players, and we will be more than ok this season.

I do have a solution to our collective doubts re ; Ashley / Money Available

    Buy my shoes.

    That’s it.

My Label reaches Nike / Adidas level, I buy the club, Rafa has a healthy budget, break Neymar’s release clause easy

It’s as good a plan as any.

But seriously, have a gander, Ireland’s First Sneaker Label.

If you know anyone that’d fancy a pair send the my way, I’d appreciate it.

Premium Leather Hightops / 30 euro a Pair / Global Shipping with Tracking / Paypal

At King Of Soles we only know 2 things… feet.

When we sell those players (and I’m sure we will) we’ll end up with an even smaller final outlay.
Mike Ashley – last of the Big Time spenders!!!!

I Dont suppose anybody has noticed the net spend is 11m due to the fact of winnie and sus are being paid for over five years. Their payments for this year total 11m.

Nice ad. Sports Direct gets its ads for free off the back of NUFC, always photobombing photos where it can.

The difference is that SD’s like a parasite but I’m that’s not so in your case. I’m sure Ed would appreciate a contribution to the Blog’s costs. Every little helps!
