Can Newcastle Get Their First Win At Huddersfield?

Newcastle again has the early afternoon game on Sunday, and it’s out first away game against fellow promoted side Huddersfield Town.

The Terriers got off to an excellent start to the season with a 3-0 win on Saturday at Crystal Palace, and they will be full of confidence against us at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Newcastle will be without Florian Lejeune, Paul Dummett, and the suspended Jonjo Shelvey but it looks like Mikel Merino will start as the playmaker.

Captain Jamaal Lascelles will also start the game, and we’ll see if Ciaran Clark continues at left back in place of Dummett.

DeAndre Yedlin has returned to training after recovering from his hamstring, and he should at least be on the bench on Sunday.

Huddersfield’s excellent young manager David Wagner

It would be a perfect time for Newcastle to get back to our winning ways of last season.

Huddersfield will be a very good test for us. To see where we are exactly in this league. A convincing performance will mean a 12-13th place finish is realistic.

Struggle in this match, win lose or draw, and I think it will be a long hard season..

Huddersfield will go all out for a win and retain their top spot, so that should give us plenty of opportunity to get goals on the break, if our defence is as good as it was on Sunday we should walk away with 3 points. However this being The Toon, we may well scrape a draw.

‘Every time I come in here I have to read your crap…………..You are just a loud big mouth………… just look for confrontation’.

    My thoughts exactly- on you.
    Give it a rest, pet.
I’ll not upset you by putting your name to your own words – but I’m pretty sure I am not the only one who’s fed up reading your constant spouting.
