These Are The Players Newcastle Want In Final Two Weeks Of Transfer Window

There are two weeks left in the transfer window which will close at 11:00 pm on Thursday 31st August and by that time Rafa would like at least four new players through the door at Newcastle.

If things go Newcastle’s way and we can sell some of our players up for transfer this summer it could even be more than four.

Newcastle is ready to bring in 21-year-old Kenedy on loan for the season from the Blues, and we are waiting for the Chelsea manager to further augment his squad before that deal goes through.

But Kenedy looks sure to join us this summer, and we hope we have an option to buy him next year.

21-year-old Brazilian Kenedy – next signing?

We have been linked with Greek International goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis for several weeks now and he has been starring at Udinese for a few seasons and the fee for him is said to be around £3.6M.

But before Rafa can bring in the goalkeeper we first must transfer Tim Krul either permanently or on loan for the season – we don’t want to end up with a new goalkeeper if Tim Krul is still at the club come September.

Rafa has been linked with defensive cover, and the player is 29-year-old Legia Warsaw and Poland international Michal Pazdan, who was impressive at Euro 2016 last summer in France.

He would cost Newcastle around £3M, and since he’s very experienced, it would appear he would be an excellent acquisition for the money – if we can get him.

Rafa wants to bring in a specialist left-back too, especially after Paul Dummett picked up a hamstring injury last Sunday.

We were interested in Bristol City’s 23-year-old left back Joe Bryan but it looks like City want close to £10M for him, and that deal will be very tough to pull off.

We have recently been linked once again with James McCarthy because Everton will be keen to unload him after they have laid out a massive £45M for Swansea star Gylfi Sigurdsson.

Everton is said to want up to £25M for James so let’s hope we can get him in on loan with an option to buy next summer – he would be a great acquisition for us.

Finally, we keep being linked with Brentford’s Spanish playmaker Jota who has only one year left on his contract at the Bees.

It wouldn’t surprise us if Rafa swoops for this player and gets another Spaniard into Newcastle this summer.

There’s nothing wrong with that.

Those six players seem to be the targets we are after, but as usual, Rafa could shock us all with signing some other player right out of the blue.

McCarthy really is this season’s Charlie Austin for you isn’t he!

I really struggle to see what you see in McCarthy that we don’t aready have in Colback and need rid of.
Eg someone who has no pace, does not create, rarely scores, doesn’t beat people and gets the red mist when trying to tackle. Even Irish fans don’t rate him.

The rest of that list would be good though.

Come on, Runaway, lad, keep the faith.
Voted for win, because Rafa worked out how to beat them, last time, the players will be up for it and we’re better than them. 😉

ED is only reporting the alleged ‘links’ – as we all know, he is far more likely to unearth a hidden gem, than to buy one of the ‘Charlie Austins’.

I have to say, even though Ed is entitled to his opinion as we all are, I do not understand his keenness on mcarthy. He’s a bit pants imo.

Rotonda…Ed has in recent years been more concerned about the amount of articles he produces then relevance…News Now for instance have some guidelines you have to follow and Ed wants his article on there…

…hence we get the Austin and now McCartney posts one too many…

I don’t mind anymore…I just skip ’em! But I do think your right…Ed sees something in McCartney as he did with Austin.

By all means sign up Kenedy and Hirst.
But then why let Gibson go if you’re trying to build the future.
Everton are rumoured to be sniffing around Woodman and that would be a huge mistake to let him go.
Now Spurs have said Delli Ali is worth £150m and we didn’t sign him because we were penny pinching on the original deal of£5m.
Someone needs to get a grip with our transfer strategies and get the new Training Ground and Academy built.

The futures black and white not a bland shade of grey indecision.

Ed i really think you have a bromance with Mc Carthy he he he. Ed as an irishman who has supported Ireland and Newcastle all my life, iam all on for Newcastle signing Irishmen, but only irishmen who are good players, and would improve Newcastle, we already have a Mc Carthy type player in Colback, if Newcastle are going to sign an irish player i would love it to be Shane Long, pace to burn, very high workrate, a very good professional, and scores goals, in my view he would be perfect for Newcastle. PS. ED, i hope your keeping well, and your treatment is going very well? HWTL.

Can’t see us signing 2 left backs unless Kenedy is intended to play elsewhere.

So if they did sign this is what it may look like in rafa’s favoured 4231

    Manquillo Pazdan Lejeune Kenedy
    Merino McCarthy
    Richie Jota Atsu

In fact if you could say if Kenedy signed as a winger and we did sign another lb we would have an entire new first xi…

Newcastle need a left back of Premier league experience, preferably younger than 25, I’d go for Matt targett from Southampton, I’d play Manquillo there for now, we need to change the team a bit to take Shelvey out of it, as I feel he’s a liability and flatters to deceive. He’s a 1 in 5 player. I wouldn’t play Elliott as he’s just an average GK who’s first though is indecisive when making his distribution. We need to sign Jack Wilshere(if fit) and someone like Clement Grenier (good set piece footballer). But for now we need to fill the team with youth and pace, we need to give them a chance also. My team would be:

    Darlow or Woodman
    De Jong

with new signings like Wilshere, Grenier and Targett it would improve the team no end. Plus they would be affordable.

If we have any money to spend at all? then Lucas Perez has to be the biggest bang for the buck at 14+ Mill. I think it’s bordering on insanity to overlook this lad if we can get him to bring in McCarthy.
