Can Newcastle Get First Win Against Nottingham Forest?

Rafa Benitez will conduct his press conference this afternoon for the League Cup (Carabao Cup) game against Nottingham Forest at home tomorrow night.

That will see Daryl Murphy returning to Newcastle and he already has three goals for Forest this season.

The tie gives us a chance of getting our first win of the season after losing our first two Premier League games.

But Forest is a good side this season in 4th place in the Championship with 9 points from their four games under new manager Mark Warburton so it will not be easy.

I’d say he’ll start Joseshite here. Where’s the f@cking signings. And at least it’s only a poxy cup game off Shelveys suspension.

Few threads back (tablet slowing down and finally froze so lost my well constructed post on shirt sales!) but where do shirt sales figure or do they? Agree on structure of your estimate but don’t know actual figures. Something happened last week which made me wonder do SD get money for online purchases and keep all or deduct costs and pay over rest? Seem to recall something cropping up on fans Forum while back.

I deliberately left shirt sales out of it
The club has a similar deal to the one SD had with Rangers and have with PNE
Nufc get’s a much higher percentage than those two .
However it’s not overly generous and worthy of much more criticism than the whining about SJP advertising

I can totally see why Ashley brought up Man City in his interview.

Their wage bill is in excess of £200m (double what they get from Sky)
They have so far spent £220m in transfers (and could double that if they pay Messi’S release clause)
These figures are mind – boggling

What is Messi’s release clause? Might be worth a punt. Not sure who he could bump out of our starting 11 though.

Now I have woken up I think we’ll beat Forest to kick start our season. De jong to start and dictate the play… I hope.

Expecting big Daryl to bully Lascelles and score again. Only Lejeune looks ready for the division and an actual improvement on what we have. Hate to be a downer but this Praet lad looks like another unmemorable signing. At this rate we’ll limp to Xmas when Ashley will splash some cash to try to rescue the situation he has created. Another year wasted. Row over bonuses and Elliott reckons the fans are spoiling the morale?? The club we love is a joke.

Look, MA is a gambler. He has a few good cards showing (Rafa, and maybe someone else) and he is betting he will survive, not win. He is playing against the house (the top 6) and you can’t beat the house in the long run. He is counting on some luck and that top teams will not be motivated vs. NUFC and lose. NUFC is MA’s toy, and he plays with it his way.
