Benitez – We Are Expecting To Move Players In This Month

Newcastle has a lot of work to do in the last eight days of the transfer window, and it could even be a hectic final day of the window when we could move players out and move some players in on 31st August.

With just over a week left we still haven’t moved players like Tim Krul, Achraf Lazaar, Emmanuel Riviere,  Grant Hanley, Jack Colback, Sadio Haidara and Henri Saivet.

That’s seven players that are surplus to requirements who are still on the wage bill with just over a week left in the window.

Dennis Praet – one of our transfer targets

Here’s some of what Rafa said yesterday as reported in the Shields Gazette:

“We are expecting players to come. We are trying to move players in, but at the same time we are trying to move players out,”

“It will be different on Sept 1, 100%.”

“I don’t know if relief is the word. But I have said before that it’s not fair to have players around that next week might be in another team and nobody knows what is going on.”

“It depends, you can’t say for certain this player will go, maybe he doesn’t like the other team or maybe they don’t offer the money.”

“It’s not so easy to know how many of this five or six will go.”

“Players in? When you start talking about names at the end of the window, the other clubs think that English teams have a lot of money so the prices go higher and higher.”

“And maybe you can’t pay them money they are asking for or maybe you are looking for a player they don’t want to sell.”

Some of the transfer targets we are after include Kenedy from Chelsea on a season loan, Dennis Praet from Sampdoria, and Pepe Reina from Napoli.

Those three players would be excellent additions to the squad, but we still need another striker brought in so we can score those goals which was also a weakness of ours last season.

Cannot face watching us, sober and trying to stay off the booze on school nights!
Don’t very often, but voted for a loss, expecting Forest to beat us.

Just got a promotional e-mail from NUFC, about appearing in your own comic strip. Replied, suggesting there are enough comic characters/clowns already at SJP – mainly running the club. Bet they won’t reply to that!

Sounds like De Jong is on his way back to Ajax which most people think is at least a pity after recovering fitness and some good performances in the Friendlies. Maybe they were his showcase games and he’s just too fragile for the Premiership but an intelligent player and professional.
    Diame take note.

Strange about SDJ. Why did he feature so much in pre-season if he was to be sold?

Taken from 3 tweets – sounds like lazaar , de Jong and rivière are close to leaving. Hopefully that will mean praet and laxalt in once they’ve gone.

Linked with Barca striker on loan too.

So apparently we have bid for Praet, Kennedy is close, we have interest in Townsend and if we sell Colback Rafa wants Wilshere

To be honest, none of those 3 players would make the difference we need. Still scratching around looking for mediocre bargain buys when we need 3 players who are better than the level we have now. Players who will make the opposition take note. An untried kid, a lightweight midfielder who can’t find form in Italy and another goalkeeper won’t make us a force to reckon with at least among lower clubs. 8 days and counting…

Ron – i think it served 2 purposes. Rafa gave him a chance to prove himself and put himself on the shop window by proving his fitness

Tried to watch as much as possible of praet. Definitely has an eye for a pass between players to play in striker.
Looks a reasonable number 10 who could improve to be better.
Reina would improve us bybebablubg a quick counter attack with accurate passing / kicks. Along with leadership at the back.
The linked Barca striker would be interesting.

Toontaff – I feel sorry for the lad I was a big advocate of his before all the injuries but the Dutch league suits him far better and wish him well. Defo not for this league in my humble opinion.

for us to be a force to be reckoned with. we would need the £200 million Ashley told us we don’t have
at least these 3 players listed would help to make us a bit more competitive
maybe be its time to get your head round the fact that this is probably the best were going to get

Oh no will have to take SDJ out my fantasy team, really thought he would be given a chance ahead of Diame. No I am not replacing him with Diame. 😉
