Rafa Benitez Has Issued This Rallying Cry To Newcastle Fans

Things are not going too well for Newcastle at the beginning of the season, and we have lost all three of our first three games.

But we have a chance to go into the International two-week break with a win at home to West Ham this afternoon, with the Hammers also losing their first two league games of the season.

Rafa has talked about how the fans are so important to Newcastle, and he wants all the fans at St. James; Park this afternoon to support the lads throughout the 90 minutes – whatever happens in the game.

Rafa Benitez on the touchline at St. James’ Park

This is the rallying cry Rafa has issued today as reported in the Chronicle:

“It’s not about what anybody has to say off the field, if you love your team and city and want to see your team in the Premier League then you have to be sure we give everything and support the team for the 90 minutes.”

“After that we can talk, criticise or say whatever we have to say about team selection and signings.”

“But during the games the team needs the support of the fans because it’s the best way forward.”

“The only thing we can do is concentrate on our strengths.” “One of our strengths last season has been our fans at home and away.”

“They help the team and make the difference.”

“Last year they made a difference and if we needed them last year then this year is even more important.”

“Every game will be really important. I can understand people who say this is more important than any of the others.”

“The Press and some fans will say it’s bigger because we haven’t won yet and it is really important for me personally.”

“Of course, it will be fantastic if we can get three points and we can go into the international break with smiles on our faces.”

“My responsibility is to make sure we will have the squad and the team will be better.”

“We have to be consistent in the way we approach every training session and every game.” “We have to work harder and we have to work better.”

“Eventually we will all be better. I am convinced that we will improve in the future.”

“If you are winning it is easy for me to send the message out.” “To win you need to be confident and transmit the right message.”

“Our team will improve and so will our players.” “At the moment some of them don’t know much about the Premier League.”

“Some were fine in the Championship but they are now having to prove the same things in the Premier League and that takes time.

“I have confidence in them when I watch them training and the way they do things that they will improve.”

“We have similarities, we both need a win and we have both lost the first two games.”

“For us, we are a team coming back from the Championship and they are an established Premier League team and have spent money.”

“Each manager is different and has to analyze his own problems but what we have is a tough game against a good team.”

Fans don’t seem too confident of a win today, but we need to get something out of this game.

It’s looking like we may have Jovetic.

His preferred destination would have have been Sevilla (he was there on loan last season)
However he knows about NUFC from his time with Man City and is cool with a transfer here.

Sevilla won’t go above €10 million and we have offered €13million.

Presumably we will offer higher wages than the Spaniards which should sweeten the pill of having a house in Darras Hall rather than a villa in Andalucia.

We can not just rely on preventing them from scoring, or counter attacking opportunities. We are the home team and will have the majority of possession, but without accurate passing and a clear tactical strategy they will stand a chance of stealing our first win.

So Rafa or another club has to pay 6M if he walks, what happened to this water tight contract he signed that ensured he held all the aces, it hasn’t worked out to well by the looks of things.

    Jail for Ashley
who do think is in control of this constant drip feed of information i think it has Bishop written all over it

i would be very surprised if Rafa’s people allowed him sign a contract with a clause like that in it
i can understand the bit with the other club bit for Rafa to have to pay 6m to leave is farcical and no self respecting contract layer would allow there client to sign a contract with such a clause in it
especially when there client was in the driving seat
