Here’s How Newcastle Can Still Get This Transfer Target Today

The Mirror are reporting today that Chelsea manager Antonio Conte reeling wants a hectic final day of the transfer window after Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain turned them down and looks to be signing on at Liverpool for £40M today.

Conte has wanted to sign new players for a couple of weeks now, and that was one provision of the deal Newcastle have to take Kenedy on loan for the season – that the Blues can sign some players before the end of this window.

If Conte can sign some players today, then there’s still some hope that the Kenedy loan deal can go through.

The news is that Conte has a cool £85M to spend today for three of their targets.

Chelsea want Ross Barkley from Everton but will have to raise their first offer of £25M by as much as £10M to get their man – who is still out injured.

Kenedy – still possible for Newcastle to get their man today

Swansea striker Fernando Llorente is likely to join Chelsea today if they pay out (a massive) £15M for the 32-year-old.

And Danny Drinkwater is also wanted.

Drinkwater has even put in a transfer request to Leicester City to help get the move done today.

So if Chelsea can sign either Barkley,  Llorente or Drinkwater today then maybe the Chelsea manager will still allow Kenedy to join Newcastle on loan?

We’ll have to watch what happens today, but Newcastle must bring in at least one player and hopefully more than one.

What do you think?

    hibbit,
Good that you’re keeping the faith, i hope it comes through. I’m more worried about the reaction of Rafa than the squad not being strengthened though. If Rafa was fully on board with what was happening and was fully prepared for a struggle knowing next year would be different I’d be happy going in to the season with what we’ve got.

I think folks have seen it all before marra, we missed out on some targets early in the window, and they (NUFC hierarchy) can spout all they want about inflated prices and wage demands, but at the end of the day they have had all this window to bring in alternatives to those they missed out on.

Shifting players out should never have been left until the last minute, in the time they had the deadwood should have been moved on, and there are plenty of players out there who are very good and reasonably priced, yet (again) they have dithered and dallied spending next to nowt and claiming the pot is empty.

They must think the fans are thick as sh1t and will swallow anything. Rafa had his targets, unfortunately, they have new clubs now and we are left looking at the bargain basement again.

Same old same old when trying to compete in the Premiership, different managers same old transfer policy.

A little light relief amongst all the wheelings and dealings of today…….got to love the last line quote…

Former Newcastle and Ipswich defender Titus Bramble has joined ninth-tier Stowmarket Town on a one-year contract.
The 36-year-old played his last game in the Premier League for Sunderland in 2013 and has been working as an academy coach at his hometown club Ipswich.
“He came to training a couple of weeks ago, enjoyed it immensely and wanted to get involved,” said boss Rick Andrews.
“From what I’ve seen in training, he’s certainly very comfortable at this level,” he told BBC Sport.

Any in coming transfer will be put off by this:

United’s players still haven’t agreed to a bonus sheet for the 2017-18 campaign. It needs to be resolved. And quickly. Other Premier League squads will be handsomely rewarded for staying up this season. Newcastle’s players, understandably, want parity, at least, with comparable clubs. They talk to friends at other clubs and they know what’s been offered elsewhere. They want a bonus structure in line with United’s Premier League status.

Sorry if it has already been mentioned.

Guess the free buffet on offer at the end of the season just isn’t enough.
