It looks like there is a genuine possibility that Tim Krul will be going on loan to Brighton & Hove Albion for this season.
The deal came up only today, and the south coast club are obviously taking advantage of the fact that Tim has only one year left on his contract at Newcastle and therefore will be a free agent next summer.
Presumably, if Tim has a good season at Brighton, then they could buy him for nothing next summer.
Tim Krul – loan move to Brighton
This looks like a good deal for Brighton, but Newcastle also get Tim’s wages of almost £60K/week off the wage bill.
Here’s a tweet put out by Brighton & Hove Albion Argus reporter Andy Naylor.

Newcastle must now try to get another goalkeeper in today.
But we may have until January to do that with Freddie Woodman not scheduled to go out on loan until then to get first team experience.
