Newcastle have got their season on track with two league wins in a row and not only that, but we were well worth the 6 points at home to West Ham and away at Swansea.
And the 3 points at Swansea were when we were without Rafa Benitez for training all last week, and he couldn’t even attend the game because of illness – but we still won.
So the mood at Newcastle has improved significantly in the last few weeks, and it will be even better if we can beat Stoke City at St. James’ Park on Saturday afternoon.
Those wins are like magic!
Jamaal Lascelles had a tremendous game for us at the Liberty Stadium and was easily our Man of the Match.
Jamaal is fully fit this season – unlike last season when he played with a groin problem for much of the time, and we expect Jamaal to be much improved in the Premier League.

And he has given an interview in the Shields Gazette, and he knows we have to win again on Saturday:
“It is going to be a good test – every game this season will be that way. It’s not the like the Championship.”
“But they are at our place, in front of our fans and I think the way we are playing at the minute anyone will find it hard against us.”
“These games (like Swansea) are the type of games we need to be winning.”
“We have Stoke at our place next, and that is also the type of game where we need to put on a performance and take the three points as well.”
“We have set our standard now. We need to maintain and improve.”
“If we keep working on things in training, listening to the boss and making sure we improve we will have a good season.”
“The clean sheet pleases me even more than the goal.” “That’s two in a row now and we need to keep it going.”
Two fans in three think we can make it three wins on the trot on Saturday.

Comment #3I still think we have a poor squad and against Swansea it good discipline and good tactics that gave us a deserved win, with a better squad we could be useful, no wonder Rafa got so agitated during the window, but what happens if/when he goes, frightening !

However, we’ve been here a few times, in recent seasons – please, no ‘after the Lord Mayor’s show’ performance!
