Newcastle fan and icon Alan Shearer reacted to Newcastle winning our third league game on the trot for almost four years by congratulating captain Jamaal Lascelles on the winner.
Alan congratulated captain Jamaal Lascelles with scoring the winner – a header from a Matt Ritchie corner for the second successive game.
Matt got two assists today as he set up the first goal with another terrific cross from the right that Christian Atsu hit home on the volley from close range.
Alan Shearer – well done Lascelles

Comment #41Re: Xisco – we never give players a chance and tend to let them go way too early! Clearly Thauvin. But could also argue Ben Arfa, Santon, and dare I say it Siem. I’m starting to think that the same may happen with Saivet

Comment #42Great win for the lads. My Man of the Match wasn’t the best player on the pitch today. But he made the best player on the pitch bettter. Yedlin played an almost flawless game at Rightback but also brought more coming forward And linked up with Richie allowing the Magic Man to put on a show. He made 1 bad pass that almost cost us late but other then that, for the 1st game of his season against a very solid side he impressed! Merino was Merino! The kid is such a good footballer! Total package! Hwtl we are gonna win the league! Ok maybe that’s a bit much but we are building towards getting back to Europe soon with Rafa guiding our journey! Doom and gloom? What doom and gloom! We are in the top 4! ToonToon
