Jack Colback has made 102 total appearances for Newcastle with 5 goals and 10 assists it looks like that will be his final record at Newcastle for the local lad.
For some reason, there has been some bad blood build up over the summer between Jack and manager Rafa Benitez.
It probably emanates from the time this summer when Jack refused to join the first team training to make up the numbers up when asked to by Rafa.
Jack has been training with the U23 side, and it looks like he will continue to do that even though he’s been named in the Newcastle 25 player squad for the Premier League.

This is what Rafa has said in the Chronicle today when asked if any of our fringe players will be considered for the game today against Stoke:
“We have to be sure that every single player is working hard and trying to improve even if they’re not playing.”
“If they do that, then the team will be better,”
“Even those players who were out of the squad in my head in the transfer window, now they are in the squad and I will try to improve them.
“That includes anyone with us but Jack, he knew my ideas before and he knows my ideas now.”
“It’s important for me to have a group of players, and the number of players, you can manage.”
“Sometimes you have too many players and you have to leave some out.”
“But to have players training on their own, I don’t think that’s a good situation.
“Instead you have to be training with a team as Colback is with the U23s.”
This doesn’t look good for Jack, but it seems Rafa is laying down the law with the local lad, who will now probably leave the club either permanently or on loan this January.
The problem with moving Jack on will be his massive £70K/week wages after he signed for us as a free agent just over three years ago from Sunderland.
At that time he signed a five-year deal with Newcastle, so his contract has almost two years still to run.
