Initial Comments From Rafa’s Press Conference – I Was Expecting The Wins

Rafa Benitez has just completed his press conference this afternoon for the game at Brighton on Sunday afternoon.

We have a chance at Brighton for the first time in almost four years, to register four successive wins in the Premier League.

That would be something and would also keep us in the top four in the league table.

Here are some of the points Rafa has made this afternoon:

“It’s not a surprise we are doing so well with three wins in a row when you see them training. It’s more or less what I was expecting.”

“It is important to keep confidence high but ensure we don’t have overconfidence. The team is working hard with very good team spirit.”

“It (the Brighton game) will be totally different to last season. It will be tough. At the same time, we have confidence that we can get three points.”

“It’s impressive that we are taking so many fans. Hopefully, we get 3 points because then we have even more responsibility to win for them.”

“Hopefully we get three points and they come back home with smiling faces.”

“It’s more or less the same situation with injuries.”

“Lejeune is still having treatment and Haidara and Dummett are not available.”

Re Fulham: They were our bogey team last season. My cousin saw them at SJP in August and said they completely outplayed us.

Ron…Fair enough, they outplayed us (I’ll take your cousins word on it for the basis of this discussion), but they weren’t the best team in the Championship last season, as they’re still in it.

Martoon…I too was unaware he was still receiving treatment.

Fulham were the best team to visit the Toon last season but were obviously inconsistent. looks as though they are just as inconsistent this season.
Did Rafa really expect us to win all 3 games? I would of been happy with a point away to any team in the prem.

My Prediction is a narrow win at Brighton and then a narrow loss at home against Liverpool ! A lot are underestimating us this year, but i believe our season has,nt started yet, Hopefully we can carry on as long as possible accumulating points to get us safe and keep us up ! Heard, read somewhere that our bubble will burst shortly, and maybe it will ! Lets enjoy this while we can!
