It seems that Dwight Gayle may have patched up whatever differences he had with Rafa Benitez over the summer and at the beginning of the season.
Rafa was ready to sell the striker to Fulham for £15M in the summer, but we didn’t have time to bring in a replacement.
And that would give us a £5M profit on the player, but he’s worth at least that to any Championship club looking for promotion.
There could be more clubs interested in Dwight come January
Gayle is now training well and got a run out in the team in the second half of the 2-1 win last Saturday against Stoke City.
With Joselu missing those three good chances last Saturday there could even be a chance that Dwight is recalled tomorrow at Brighton, although we doubt that will happen.
Dwight Gayle – Newcastle striker – may be sold in January?
Dwight is keen to show he can score goals in the Premier League, but Rafa is now building a team that can challenge for the top six in the Premier League.
The players he now needs have to be a lot better than in the past, and maybe Dwight doesn’t fit into Rafa’s new plans for the team.
Dwight could even be sold in January, but before that happens Newcastle would need to line up a suitable replacement.
But Dwight has until the end of the year to show Rafa he deserves to stay at Newcastle.
He must show the manager that he can indeed score goals in the Premier League.
If he does that he will stay part of the Rafa revolution on Tyneside.

Comment #167Just been watching MOTD. Everton game when Rooney got his eye injury.
He was after the ref straight away and my lip reading skills counted at least three “Fuc*s” towards the ref.
Later on the analysis Rooneys mouth was blurred out when he was using foul language towards the ref.
I’m not 100% on this but I’m sure Rooney was not blurred out when the incident was first shown (might be wrong though).
If so why did the Beeb blur out Rooneys mouth – surprised when there is no audio of what the players say.
Clearly foul and abusive language is against the rules. Seems to me the Beeb are protecting Rooney -clearly no detailed discussion about him breaking the rules. Double standards at play possibly.

Yes the usual standards apply .
“England’s “Wayne Rooney can do whatever he likes
Had it been on of our lot it would been sent straight the high count for trial by pundit.
With 30 mins of slow mo and “evidence”
Rt hon Robbie savage as acting DPP.
To be honest Everton looked a lot better after he was subbed.
Maybe they were to overcome banging on about Harry Kane’s amazing technique ( insert massive eye roll) to notice what Mr.pissed up behind the wheel was up to.

Comment #170Getting ahead of myself on the ash selling up thing ….
But I just hope the buyer if true gets the whole club for what they pay as part of the deal
Worst case scenario would be ash sells but refuses to part with the land behind the gallowgate .
Stopping any future extension .
Just as bad would be if he kept the merchandise arm so preventing sales from going back to the club etc .

Comment #171Thanks beer, I’m ok on some of the general rules, but I’m pretty fuzzy on team and player specific rules. Credit to the refs, must be difficult to remember them all.

Comment #172Blog Night shift clocking in…
If story about Ashley in negotiations to sell club for a lowered asking price of 380 m £ is true then could be best news for club since the arrival of Rafa!!! 😀
Good to see Jib back. Sad to see Bobby leave. BTW, Bobby hope your back is doing better and that new medication continued to work to relieve your pain.
Hope to see Rolando Aaron’s in the squad tomorrow (today). He looked so good in that cup match, not sure why we have not seen him since…?
May Ashley be bought out!

Talk about Rolando earlier in Brighton already large gathering of the toon army about. Chat was all about his games against Palace and ManC. Someone suggested he’s being groomed on wing play by Rafa. If you recall this was the case with Babel at Liverpool.
Other fans living in Newcastle seem to think he’s got a pending court case for a night club incidenta while ago.

Comment #174Just catching up with the farce that is MOTD before work..
Have to agree with the lads on here from last night regarding players getting a nick on the ball before wiping out the attacking player. In a week they are applying two opposite judgements!
So frustrating!! Are they so blind and biased that they can’t see the hypocrisy they deliver every week??

Comment #175Danny Murphy is falling into the classic Sissoko trap as well. Little highlights package heaping praise on him, basically having his one game in ten when he looks interested. The pattern we know well from his time here. Trouble with him is he then disappears for a couple of months. Then doesn’t help himself by being quoted talking disrespectful shyte in the media.

Just want to add something to something and old man said yesterday…
Is anyone here a family man with young kids? General family obligations?
I am and I might be a rare one seeing as I chose that life and wanted 3 kids and what that in tails… lol
I just wonder if others are in that situation like me since according to someone (I’ll leave the name out) 99% of this blogs posters would priorities watching a NUFC game over the obligations that comes with being a father and a family man!
Any thoughts on that this fine Sunday morning 🙂

Remember playing an away fixture at a Sunday morning level about ten years ago.
Ref was a nice fella and in his late 70s. Still doing it because he loved the game.
Two minutes in he gave an off side against our forward. The player looked away and said stupid old clot ( or was it a tad more rude ).
Ref said you come here, no one speaks to me like that. Then gave him a straight red card.
Forms came through the next week from Durham FA. Fined £25 and banned from all football for 28 days.
You’d only have to do this once to put a stop to it.

Comment #180Looking forward to the game later!
We all know the great impact Mikel Merino has had already. He has been a big surprise, surpassing all expectations and still a young un.
Somehow he has to stay grounded. Prem teams will be looking closely at him and will work out his every move, how to play against / stop him. This has happened to Jonjo at various times.
He will make mistakes, have less impressive games of course, and I hope everyone shows support and patience with him, because this lad is going to be a great player, one we will struggle to keep hold of IMO.
