Newcastle Fans Take To Twitter After Terrible Result And Subpar Performance

The bubble had to burst sometime, and it usually happens when you least expect it.

We thought we had a decent chance of winning at the Amex Stadium yesterday but a poor second half performance made sure we didn’t.

In the first half, we were OK, but Joselu again missed a golden opportunity to score, but we still thought at halftime we could get a goal to win the game.

But that’s what Brighton did, and it brought out three game winning streak to an abrupt end.

We have to put up a good performance next Sunday afternoon at home to Liverpool; otherwise, it’s going to be a difficult two weeks for Geordie fans over the International break.

We shouldn’t overreact too much – it’s only one game, and we didn’t play up to our usual standards.

That’s why Rafa was annoyed after the match.

Surely a “terrible result” is getting hammered 6-0?

Well, even 9 points from 7 games would be equivalent to 48 points in May, so the Liverpool game is a free hit!

A disappointing result, but the end of the world has been avoided!

Ron…thanks for the link mate. Worked just fine for me 🙂

Hoosy Loo really needs to his the target on these opportunities…you don’t get many of these in a game, but personally I think his general composure is totally bad…

…suppose that is what you get for £5M and his track record!

We might see Nitro start against Liverpool. At least Rafa has three players to choose from now!

Brighton away was always going to be a test.

A very even match although we took control more as the game went on.

For me our best xi in 4231 is

    Elliot

    Manquillo Lejeune Clark gamez

    Shelvey Merino

    Ritchie atsu Murphy

    Joselu

Atsu likes to drift inside so why not use him at number 10.

However I’d love to see us try 352 or 433 so we can combine shelvey merino and Hayden.

I like mbemba but we look better balanced with gamez at left back.

I’d try 352 because I think shelvey firing long balls up to Gayle and Joselu with merino playing them in as well could be very effective.

For Liverpool I would drop Joselu
Play Perez as the front point of the diamond
Merino at back of same – serving the wingers.

Shelvey and A.N.Other in the 2 in front of the defence
Merino sprays lovely passes on the deck
However it was noticeable that with the variation
of Shelveys occasional long pops over the top we
caused Brighton a lot more bother.

We have plenty of goal scoring options from midfield and
fans shouldn’t get too hung up about not having a bishbosh
centre forward – Rafa’s teams are subtler than that.

In a nutshell, if Ashley doesn’t provide Rafa with the correct tools for the job he’ll go somewhere that does.

Just what is with that headline. GET A GRIP!
    1. We did not play badly
    2. We lost 1-0 and that could have easily been better for us with a bit of luck, and maybe we deserved better.

Thankfully the majority of posters responses are much more reasonable but this type of article is just why we are considered as unrealistic.
