Report – Newcastle Will Try To Sign This Player In January

Newcastle will hopefully want to add to their squad in January, wherever we are in the Premier League table by then.

Rafa will want to improve the side in every transfer window, which is one reason he was so annoyed with owner Mike Ashley last January when not a single penny was spent on new players.

Our former Chief Scout Graham Carr has now left the club, and Rafa is in full control of which players come in and which players move out.

But the problem is still owner Mike Ashley and the fact he doesn’t like to spend money – even when it’s Newcastle’s money.

We reported yesterday that Newcastle have watched Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Valon Berisha during the Austrian club’s Europa League 1-1 draw with Vitoria de Guimaraes last month.

Garry Rodrigues – 26-year-old 21 times capped Cape Verde player

And late in the summer Galatasaray winger Garry Rodrigues was also a target of ours, but we failed to get him to the club.

And the reports in Turkey were that Rafa offered £6M for the 26-year-old winger – a £3M profit for Galatasaray in 6 months.

But the Turkish club didn’t accept Newcastle’s offer.

And there are reports now by Turkish Football that Newcastle will go in again this January for the Cape Verde left winger with an improved offer to try to persuade the Turkish giants to sell.

Hopefully, we are already working on potential deals for January so we can get the offers in early in the transfer window.

If we can get say three good players signed in January that would be very good and help us to finish further up the Premier league table come May.

What do you think?

Comments welcome.

    Our Toon,
I wasn’t referring to just one interview, but all of them.

Fair point but KK is still the King.

    Tsunki, first and last repost:

I read you and for all I know you’re spot on. I don’t want to defend that guy anymore, he may well be a deceitful scheming jerk. He made billions after all. Still, those things you catalogue may just be mistakes. We all make em.

In his interviews I admit I don’t see the monster we all talk about. In fact, he seems surprisingly insecure, for such a successful man, like he needs a cuddle
That’s why I think it would’ve been a better strategy to give him the love, he’d have spent his last penny on us

We’ll never know. Like he said himself, we’re stuck with each other.

He looks insecure needs a cuddle..

Give your head a shake, he’s embarrassed he has to be there, ashamed that people get to see the face of the scumbag who treats his employees at SD like slaves.

It wasn’t just the sacking of KK, Milner was sold and he was told we would be going for Bastian from Munich or a player of that ilk, instead he ended up with Xisco and Nacho. Then JFK came to the club, you don’t need a history lesson but try to be accurate when discussing the past instead of highlighting 1 aspect to back your point up.

Over the last 10 years nothing has changed, managers still being lied to!!

No idea. He said he’s a PR person’s nightmare because he tells it like it is. You can choose to believe him or not. He’s one of the most secretive and camera shy billionaires in the world.

But, I’ve had this conversation before. Many times. Ed’s blog coincides with MA taking over, and I’ve also been on since about then….Too many ifs and buts, too many assumptions, too much groupthink. So I’ll drop it.

Over to you Bishop or whomever you’ve hired on this blog, Mike 😉
