It will be a tough game against Liverpool on Sunday afternoon at St. James’ Park, but it’s a game we can also win.
But to win this game, we will need to be at our best, and we cannot have any lapses in defense that we had when we conceded the goal at Brighton that gave the Seagulls all 3 points.
If we cannot win games against the bottom 14 teams, we must try not to lose them and have the other side gain all 3 points on us.
This is the second time we will have played a Jurgen Klopp Liverpool side, the last time being last year when we were 2-0 down at halftime but came back to get an excellent 2-2 at Anfield.
Jurgen Klopp and Rafa Benitez last year at Anfield
Here’s some of what Jurgen has said about Newcastle at his press conference:
“It means nothing in terms of the Newcastle game. We have to sort our problems, pick a line-up and give respect to Newcastle.”
They’re a good team, well organized, unlucky at Brighton with the goal.”
“We know their quality, but the situation in terms of points. Sevilla and Moscow felt like a defeat but it wasn’t.”
“11 points sounds not perfect, but it’s not like we cannot see the other teams.”
“I saw Newcastle’s full game against Brighton. Good team and they were unlucky. We know about their quality.
We will see new flags from the impressive Gallowgate Flogs group on Sunday, and it seems they will be something to behold.
And we hear they are all about Rafa – as they should be.
We must try to get Rafa to stay at the club long-term, and our best chance of doing that is through our great fans.
Howay The Lads!!
