The Chronicle is reporting that Amanda Staveley is at the game today and she is an investment advisor for companies residing in the middle east.
The reason it could be important is she may be working for one of the companies who are looking at a takeover deal reported to be ongoing at Newcastle.
Companies could also be looking at simply investing in Newcastle without Mike Ashley losing the overall ownership of the club.
Only today there were reports in the Sunday papers that there are a number of would-be investors interested in buying Newcastle.
Some have already signed non-disclosure agreements so they can look more closely at Newcastle’s financial records.
44 year-old Investment advisor Armanda Stavely
This is some of her background taken from Wikipedia:
Staveley played a prominent role in the investment of £7.3 billion in Barclays by the ruling families of Abu Dhabi and Qatar, and by the Qatari sovereign wealth fund.
Staveley’s firm, PCP Capital Partners, acted for Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the Abu Dhabi royal family, who invested £3.5 billion to control 16% of the bank.
It’s certainly looking like companies are interested in investing in Newcastle United – at last.
