Newcastle On Track To Finish High Up In Premier League

Newcastle now have 10 points from our first 7 games, and if we can keep that up, then we will finish up with 54 points by the end of the season.

Last season that would have been good enough for us to finish in 8th place and the season before that – when we were relegated – we would have finished in 9th place.

So there’s no doubt we have made a decent start to the league even though we were humbled in the League Cup when we lost 3-2 at home to Championship club Nottingham Forest.

Rafa Benitez – has done brilliantly with the players he has

The good news is that we can move up the league table over the next four games which are all against bottom half teams in the Premier League.

These are our four upcoming fixtures:

Date Opposition Venue KO
Sun 15th Oct Southampton A 16:00
Sat 21st Oct Crystal Palace H 15:00
Mon 30th Oct Burnley A 20:00
Sat 4th Nov Bournemouth H 15:00

If we can get some reinforcements into the club in January that would be very good and would possibly help us finish higher the league table.

We need a striker, specialist left-back and a playmaker brought in during January if possible.

We were fairly confident that we could do well this season and that was based purely on Rafa Benitez being the manager, and he’s done brilliantly so far with the players he has.

Just think what he could do with the Liverpool squad if he had those players.

One thing he’d fix very quickly is the weak defense the Reds have had for a while now,

Rafa has Newcastle very well organized with every single player knowing exactly what his job is in the team and there was praise yesterday for how good Newcastle looked.

They may not all be top players we have at the moment, but we have a good team with every single player willing to play his heart out for Newcastle.

Love it!

Here’s how we stand in the league as the second International break of the season begins.

Just looking at our next four games and in particular Sunday 15th Oct at Southampton (16:00 ok) and Monday 30th Oct at Burnley (20:00 ok) would I be right in saying those games’ll be timed fir TV?

If so, the Prem League really need to challenge the broadcasters over the timings in relation to away fans’ travelling. I ask you, an eight o’clock kick off in Burnley of a Monday night. It really tests away fans’ dedication but such a timing is inconsiderate and unnecessary!
