Geordie Fans Take To Twitter – Happy With Performance – But Not Result

Newcastle fans were disappointed we could not get the win yesterday after an excellent display from the lads.

We were unlucky but in other games, we can make up for it – so it all seems to even out over a full season – hopefully.

There were some terrific performances from Newcastle players yesterday and some rare kudos for Perez and left back Manquillo after the 2-2 draw yesterday at St. Mary’s.

We have come a long way since last year when in the first half in the same fixture that we lost 3-1 we looked absolutely pathetic.

Rafa has said there’s room for improvement and if we keep improving this season, we can still finish in the top half of the table.

Newcastle Fans

Here are some typical comments today from the Newcastle fans and we had an amazing 3500 supporters make the 660 mile round trip to Southampton yesterday.

We’re going to need our very best full backs on duty v Palace in the next match if Zaha and Townsend play as they did against Chelsea.
I’d go for Yedlin on the right and bring in Clark on the left.

Well for me we missed a trick yesterday,
Joselu had in my opinion his worst game for us, he has played the last few but still seems to run out of gas after 50, we sat too deep 2nd half. At times their back line were playing the ball at will across the pitch ten yards inside our half! Don’t mind them doing that in theirs but not ours. Could Mitro from bench have been a better move?
Sorry as much as I love the character shown we don’t help ourselves, Yedlin got a break big time so happy with point, onwards and upwards.

It seems it did Hayden some good yesterday losing his place for a game…

    …it ups competition!

Lets see if it has the same effect on Clark…

It’s quite interesting to contrast the tweets above
(a lot from folk at the game)
with the whining twisters we get on here

Another hard working performance.I would have been happy with a draw before KO,but feel mugged now.
We need a keeper and a striker in January and give Mitro a chance till then, not impressed with Joselu and Gayle just doesn’t look right in the big boys league.
Elliott should have saved first goal and his kicking is awful.Would it be too wrong to play Woodman??

To be fair, as Long had already kicked the ball out himself, i think an indirect free kick would have been the right award. If Lejeune hadn’t bumped into him, Long would have been embarrassed as he was definitely going down, come what may.

But if you clatter an opponent in the box, you’re asking for trouble.
