Newcastle fans are taking to Twitter and expressing their thoughts as it seems the sale of Newcastle United could happen with Amanda Staveley – on behalf of Middle East investors – is reported about to launch a formal bid.
That will be a bid that shows she is serious and expected to be around £300M.
But she needs to look at the financial records first to ensure all is well financially with Newcastle.
Some fans are scared in case we turn into a Chelsea or Manchester City where it’s all about money, and that’s it – and the fans seem spoiled.
But it will be different with Newcastle – the club is one of the best supported in the world – and with Rafa at the helm, there will be genuine support and joy as the Newcastle team becomes better and better.
That’s a prediction.
And we’ll have the best flags in England too!
Rafa Benitez – Newcastle’s world-class manager
Here are some typical tweets for the Geordie fans.
If Mike Ashley has been trying to sell #nufc for a while he might have due diligence information ready to go, so it might happen fast.

I love the escalating #nufc takeover stories on here, by next week the deal will be ‘done’ & Rafa will have a ‘kitty of £5bn for transfers’
— Kristoph (@therealkrist) October 19, 2017
I’m excited but skeptical about the potential takeover of #NUFC. Are we about to see Man City money? I have no idea what to expect.
— AB (@AlexCBest) October 19, 2017
I realise that if #NUFC become a billionaire-owned ‘money club’ it will make me look a total hypocrite given my opinions on Chelsea/City…

Realistically the only way to expand SJP
and also add some balance to the stadium
would be to expand Eastwards
Contrary to what many on here think , expansion
South (Strawberry place) is not possible because
of issues with the Metro
Eastward expansion would profoundly effect
Leazes Terrace which is a Grade I listed building
( built c1830 by Richard Grainger)
so we are stuck with what we have.

For sure there is abuse from time to time but
what really pi**es people off is when posters
have an agenda against another specific poster
and always twist their posts, bring up historic
differences.
You and Jib are two of the worst offenders . It’s
tiresome, boring and pathetic.

Comment #43I wonder what people on here will moan about once we have a progressive owner, pumping finance into the club to buy top players, which will see us competing for and winning trophies.
Will the blog survive?

I don’t think the justification is there to increase the capacity to 60,000. That’s say 8,000 extra seats. Say 22 home matches each season (19 league + 3 cups) with an average ticket price of £35/each. Only an extra £6M per season in ticket sales. How much would the expansion cost? Focus on the TV money by being competitive on the pitch, and build the brand that Ashley has diminished but still has some global recognition left – that’ll get commercial revenues growing again.

Comment #45toonincheek – sorry to disappoint you -but I have no blog agendas.
If commenting on foul abuse, racism, disability discrimination is having an agenda then so be it.
If other folk -weaklings – rebuked the culprits the blog would be better.
I would concede I do at times “take the pi** ” out of some of the clots on here ( if you pardon my language I would include within the clots category knobbers, scumbags, and other shyte – who always stick together).

There must be something in it, Liverpool have just expanded theirs. I’m assuming if we did expand it would include apartments as well.

I was all for them building a new stadium in Leazes park then building a new nicer park on the bit we left. I don’t think that many would have been too bothered about the name change either if we’d been competing in the CL. The fact that he done it while carrying on with a campaign of mediocrity peed everyone right off.

Good news up to now eh ? ..Let’s hope Ash don’t play hard ball . I’v waited many years for Ashley to sell up…looks like he realised he can’t take the club any further and is, hopefully, doing the honourable thing.
My one worry is he over prices uz and has no real intention to let go and he’s pre-empting the furore If Rafa was to walk out in January.
Covering himself with the excuse ” well I tried ” . Can’t trust him.

As for expansion …
I always look at the ground and wish we could find a way of extra capacity within the same foot print .
The heritage listed behind the east stand being the main obstacle .
You only need to look at the mind blowing developments in the middle east to see/ think it’s possible with enough cash.
Not only that but I watched a few docos on them and was proud to note how mainly of the builders ,engineersand architects were born and bread in the north east .
Imagine a solution is found with a combo of Arab money and Geordie nous ?
Anything is possible .
Keep it on the hill lads

Comment #80Our Toon – funny thing is some of the “base thickos” on here, and I mean there are one or two, certainly not all, do not appreciate that since the bad old days – cracking so called jokes with either direct racist overtones or indirect racist overtone/suggestive racist overtones are no longer tolerated in todays society.
I’ve worked at places where -for example Jib’s joke – would get you the sack – pronto out the door – your feet wouldn’t touch the ground.
In addition to the offence caused to the victim – these thickos are so thick that by not curbing their their offensive ways – they end up with no job – to support their families – they are so thick – it beggars belief.
We know the culprits’ antecedents on this matter – he has previous.
What makes me laugh is that I am rebuked in language from the gutter ( Whilst we do not f and blind in our house/family their are clearly others that do – probably f and blind at their grannies if the truth is known).
They can find the time to launch filthy abuse at me but yet not find the ability/need/conscience/decency/balls to rebuke the culprit. Hypocritical “b******s.
Having to resort to filthy abuse means the person has lost the argument – it is the same folk who stick together – “ya shyte and scum” – always gravitate to one another – happens on here, happens in society.
Same folk go hoop licking their offensive compatriots it’s gut wrenching. Seen it on here over the years.
