This Could Be Newcastle’s Starting Eleven Against Palace

We only have three players out for tomorrow’ game at home to Crystal Palace.

Paul Dummett, Dwight Gayle, and Massadio Haidara are not available although Massadio is finally back in training after being out all season so far with a knee injury.

Newcastle played well last Sunday at the Saints although we did give away two goals through a lack of concentration and Rafa will have been working on that in training this week.

We should have won the game at St. Mary’s and we should win the game tomorrow against Crystal Palace although yes –  it’s always difficult to get a win in the Premier League.

Florian Lejeune gave away a soft penalty with just 15 minutes to play, but we expect the 26-year-old to keep his place in the side.

Ciaran Clark – used at left-back

That seems hard luck on Ciaran Clark, but there’s  a possibility Ciaran will be asked to play at left in place of Javier Manquillo – who also played well last weekend.

Then the question which two of the three central midfielders – Jonjo Shelvey, Isaac Hayden, and Mikel Merino will play and out suspicion is that Rafa will stay with Jonjo and Isaac for this game.

So this could be the side that starts in a game we have to win tomorrow:

Yedlin Lascelles (c) Lejeune Clark
Hayden Shelvey
Ritchie Perez Atsu

Some changes we could see is Mikel Merino in the number 10 position in place of Ayoze Perez – it’s the position he plays for the Spanish U21 side, and he scores goals for them.

But Perez had a good game last time out at Southampton and scored an excellent goal.

That looks like a strong side to take on bottom of the table Crystal Palace, and if we concentrate for the full 90 minutes, there’s a good chance we can get our 4th win of the season.

That would be terrific!

betty – very good. I was suggesting innocently that some may suggest the possible deal is off if she doesn’t turn up.
Some on here will probably suggest she’s been stalked when visiting relatives/old haunts in North Yorkshire and then kidnapped by dodgy bloggers on here or Sunderland supporters.

Perez has been useless all season, Joselu not much better, reckon we have the worst front two in the league, Mitrovic and Merino should play. Name a team with a worse front two, I dare you??

Ibiza, Iv been out of the loop for a while on the land sale .

I have just in the last ten minutes had a conversation with the land registry in Durham as you awoke my interest, and was told exactly this .

” There was an application in September this year for transfer of ownership ”

I then asked was it for the sale of land to new owner or change of lease.. direct answer was , new owner. I asked if the land was sold , did the application go through , answer is Yes …it went through and the land was sold .

All this relates to numbers 7 to 8 Strawberry place… At this time Ibiza I’m not certain if the address relates to the plot of land that we need for expansion of the football ground.

I did mention Ashley and Mash holdings but they could not divulge names.

I Mentioned that the land was owned by Nexus but Ashley owned the lease. I was just trying to narrow it down to the exact plot of land and they came back with 7 and 8 Strawberry place ..Sold !

You earlier alluded to moving the homes on Leazes Terrace to another site to allow development of SJP.

Ok, where to and what about the rest of the Leazes area? The Terrace is part and parcel is part of the Leazes Crescent area so moving the terrace in isolation will probably be a non starter.

An alternative site for SJP could be the Nuns Moor or tne north end of the Town Moor. But…. why relocate unless there’s some financial logic in doing so.

I can’t see any sense in relocating SJP and adding another few thousand on its capacity would achieve what? The costs’d far outweigh any financial benefit.

Companies House has 7-8 as the registered address of the Strawberry Pub Company Ltd

And, here’s some background on student accommodation development which might shed some light on land ownership. It may not of course.

So, did NUFC actually hold the lease to that plot?

Jiblets claims that we may be playing in the Funbet888 stadium come January. I wonder what kind of business savvy new owners would obtain Mike Ashleys ten year Nufc crime sheet and immediately start of their new reign by copying his mistakes. They could add a few of their own, the Nine bar could become the Phillips-Quinn return and they could be really stupid and hire Dennis Wise and a Galaxy note8 with JFK and the pacemakers as manager.

Toastie and others are spot on! Merino should be in the number 10 position instead of Perez and Mitro should be leading the line instead of this absolute joke Joselu. His two goals have come because the defender kicked the ball off of his leg and it has bounced into the goal. The three M’s need to be in the lineup on a regular basis. Merino, Mitro, and I would add Mbemba, he should be the left back until a better option is available!

Not fancy a pint in the Wheese Keys then Jail?

I doubt very much the ashley model of plastering a tacky brand on any bare wall, sponsorship by usurers and bingo clappers would fit the ongoing brand surge of owners prepared to pay the thick part of £300m to get into the game with the big boys.

The Stokes family consistently invest in achieving mid-table, rather than short term cost cutting at every opportunity until £80M is too late.

Ifs and buts in football history

    The great Howard Kendall died
2 years ago last Tuesday (aged 69)

He left Everton in the late 80’s
after being their most successful manager,
frustrated at English clubs being banned
    in Europe (Heysel)
He joined Athletic Bilbao and despite their
“only Basque player ” restriction was quite

In May 1989 NUFC under Willy McFaul were
relegated and that summer we offered the
managers job to Kendall – he declined and
3 months later Bilbao sacked him.

    What if eh ?
