Rafa Refuses To Talk About Takeover – But Good News On Injury Front

Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez has just given his press conference for the game on Monday night at Burnley.

That game will be another close one with Burnley doing very well this season and only one point and one place behind Newcastle in the league table.

The games against the bottom 14 teams are games we can definitely win – home or away – so Rafa will be looking for Newcastle’s second win in succession after beating Crystal Palace 1-0 at home last Saturday afternoon.

This is some of what Rafa has said today:

“I said before we aren’t talking about that (the takeover) – just concentrating on the games.”

“We have to wait and see where we are in January – we have to wait a bit before we’re too happy.”

“By January we will have played all of the top teams.”

“Sean Dyche is doing a great job. He has the experience to know what’s going on.”

“I think he can have success at another club if he goes.”

“His goatee is better than mine but he can win that – I want to win on Monday!”

“We still have Dummett out and all the other players are available.Gayle and Haidara are fine.”

That’s very good news on the injury front – one person injured – a lot different compared to past years.

Here’s where we are in the league table before the weekend games.

Will be interesting to see who out of Gayle or Mitro make the bench on Monday.

Loser to shave of their goatee! The stakes would never have been so high…

One of my sons who moves in much
higher financial circles than me has
just mentioned in passing in a conversation
unrelated to NUFC (he’s Rugby) –
that a contact of his says Staveley
    made an offer this morning.

I wouldn’t have Gayle in the squad at the minute. He’s not all there..

Things are starting to move at lightening speed as far as takeover is concerned. After the exclusive Middle Eastern report last night from Nacional to the now Daily Star(yes the daily star) who says the takeover is that far down the line that due diligence must be going well because she met with Newcastle chiefs in London to discuss how much transfer funds could be brought in for January with 100+ M being quoted. I just hope that this figure of 300 M isn’t a sticking point but the feeling is this is different than ever before and even greedy Ashley would know his castle would depreciate to half that amount should takeover not happen and Rafa went. THIS LOOKS LIKE THE END GAME! HWTL
