Newcastle Have To Improve This Part Of Their Game To Get A Win On Saturday

Burnley made a very good start to the game last night and had Newcastle under some pressure early on, but once our lads got going, we held Burnley quite well.

In fact, manager Rafa Benitez after the game said he thought Newcastle controlled the game, but it was very close.

And it was a poor goal by Hendrick we conceded with only 16 minutes to go that gave all 3 points to the home side.

It was a very disappointing loss after we had earned 14 points from the previous 7 games since we lost our first two league games.

Rafa Benitez – disappointed with defeat

In our poll, there were only 11% of Newcastle fans who expected us to lose and over 50% thinking we could win this game.

This is what Rafa Benitez said after the match:

“I was disappointed because I know we can win those type of games.”

“We knew before that the league will be very difficult.”

“But it’s a long race, and now we have another opportunity at home on Saturday against Bournemouth.”

“Mentally, we have to make sure we will be ready for it.”

“We have plenty of time to recover from Burnley and now we have to make sure we approach the game with the same confidence.”

“As soon as we settled down we had control of the game.”

“Now we have to do the same at home on Saturday.”

It will be another tough game against second bottom of the league Bournemouth on Saturday, and we have to show a lot more creativity to win this game.

The next two-week International break begins after this weekend so it would be a perfect time to get our 5th win in the league.

Newcastle dropped to 9th place in the league table after last night’s defeat.

Rafa has to deal with the players he has we all know that, imo Carragher was right when he said we have a championship/prem side but a world class manager, we are wringing everything we can out of the squad, we do have a weak forward line without doubt, maybe on paper the worst on the prem, is that 12 defeats in a row away from hoe? its pathetic, we best keep on picking up points at home for sure, we are not at base camp yet on Everest concerning our supposed takeover? sticky moments agin at the toon, maybe a slight over reaction but thats what this club does to you.

    Spoke with a bloke in a pub….

Rafa is allegedly not happy with Aaron’s attitude so has not involved him lately, although Aaron’s was supposed to have had a great game for u-23 team.

This is why Murphy was on the bench and not Aaron’s. The craic from the training ground (according to the bloke in the pub) is Murphy is not at the standard needed…yet hopefully .

Believe or disbelieve…..I am not fussed. Just what I was told.

beefman13 – Carragher actually said “A team of Championship/Premiership players with a Champions League winning manager”. I’m not that keen on Carragher but I have to admit he was spot on with that comment. With this team we’re going to have good and bad results throughout the season.

Bambams – makes a lot of sense – I don’t need craic from the training ground about Murphy – I can see it with my own eyes! In pre-season Aarons looked to be getting back to his best – so obviously something has happened since.
