Rafa Benitez has just held his press conference for the important home game against AFC Bournemouth tomorrow afternoon.
When Rafa’s Newcastle United have played on a Saturday in the Premier League we have won all 5 times so let’s hope it’s the 6th win tomorrow – we really need the 3 points before the International break.
Rafa Benitez – at his press conference
This is some of what Rafa has said today and he’s very down to earth:
“Mikel Merino will be put for at least a couple of weeks, we still need to wait to see. Dummett is training but not ready yet.”
“We are in the top 10 and nobody expected that. It could be better, and it could be worse.”
“I like to have a good record at home. It is the opposite to when we were good away last year. We want to make fans happy.”
“Colback is training with the U23s at the Academy. He knows the situation and I only concentrate on players I actually have.”
“Without Merino, we can play Diame, Shelvey, Hayden and Saivet. We can also play Mbemba there. Jack knows the situation.”
“It is important if you lose to have a game to try and put things right. Bournemouth know the Premier League now and they are a good team who play well.”
“We have to be competitive and make sure we are good enough to stay up. Then we can continue to build from that.”
It doesn’t look like local lad Jack Colback has any future on Tyneside and he will be sold or loaned out in the January transfer window.
Jack is said to be on a massive £75K/week after he signed over three years ago from Sunderland as a free agent.
So the club will be keen to get those wages off the wage bill.

Comment #1Colbeck must’ve peed Rafa off big time and it’s a pity as we’re so short of decent CMs.

You’re posting with a vengeance yet you said you were off to Spain to do some painting at Casa Jibletto.
I may though have overlook the likelihood that Jane and Jeff are doing it for you.
Carry on….

Comment #2Jack Colback is on £35K per week
For some reason best known to themselves
The Sun in the summer doubled it to 70k
Now Ed has added an extra 5k to the Sun’s
exaggeration.
He probably doesn’t even get 35K if he isn’t
a regular in the 1st team squad . That’ll be why
Rafa has consigned him to the academy

I don’t know if you recall a couple of weeks
ago a National one day strike in France when
the air traffic controllers decided to join at the last
minute ?
The family and I got caught up in that and accepted
the airlines generous remuneration package offered
if we cancelled.
We shall go out next month maybe

Comment #4glad rafa has no flies on him and says it like it is instead of pandering to egos.
A very limited player taking good money out of the club every week. sooner we can get colback, saivet, haidara gone the better.
