Dwight Gayle Starts In Place Of Perez Against Bournemouth – Mitro On Bench

Rafa Benitez has just announced the Newcastle starting line-up for the game against Bournemouth this afternoon.

And we see Dwight Gayle get a start in the number 10 position in place of Ayoze Perez – so hopefully that will give us more goalscoring power up front.

Dwight can score at any time, and this is a big chance for the former Crystal Palace striker.

That’s two changes from the side that lost last Monday night at Burnley with Isaac Hayden coming back in for Mo Diame in central midfield.

Eddie Howe – Bournemouth manager

There is some confidence among the Newcastle supporters that we can win this game – with almost three in four fans expecting all 3 points.

That seems to solve the striker dilemma, Mitrovic to come on and punish tired defenders later in the game.

    IM MISSING SOMETHING HERE.

IMO Joselu is the main problem nothing sticks up front, so im thinking joselu is going to try the no 10 role.

    why not mitrovic?

Howay Gayle, we know you can stick it in the net, it’s the same size whatever the league and with a target man to play off hopefully you can get up and running in the PL for us – we sorely need it because we’re almost 1/3 through the season and our top goalscorer is currently on 2!

Match we need to be winning if we’re going to remain in relative safety throughout the campaign. Fail to do so and the jitters will start again for many.

Well at least we have a good defense. Maybe Mitro will get us a goal when if he comes on. All of those ten minutes…

Mitro to come on late and score the winner.
Joselu will lead the line not Gayle methinks.
Looks like Rafa will try anything before giving Mitro the nod.

@tuff can’t blame him. The thought of having 2 liabilities on the field at the same time must be a nightmare for any manager.

Think Joselu will play deeper – flick-ons, laying it off etc. Gayle will stretch them and run the channels which should also benefit Joselu with more space than he’s accustomed to. Hopefully we’ll pose much more of a threat today.

Would have preferred mitro and gayle than Joselu and gayle. Mitro and gayle haven’t played much together but showed last year there is something there.

Gonna go for a 2-0 win.

Ritchie and Gayle. Got a feeling this might be the day we see the opposition get a red or us receive a pen too!

Joselu offers very little. Stoke got the best deal on him for sure. But what Raf says goes. Easy 2-0 win today for us. Ritchie to score.

I thought once he was up to speed that Rafa would have
Joselu sitting between the two wide men.
Because they are both big fellas folk think
    Mitro and Joselu are interchangeable.
    Not at all
Both Gayle and Mitro are without matches
I guess they will take a half each

    Last chance train for Joselu?
